The top layer does not have the stretchiness of actual skin, so when you approximate it curls the mat upwards. This means you can’t do but like one or two of them before you have to take them out. It also means approximating edges requires an absurd amount of tension. The stiffness also means it’s relatively hard to manipulate for things like subcuticular suturing. Forget about pulley sutures. Some of the sites I’ve used 5-6 times and I’m already seeing wear/tear/hole spots Over all not bad for the price and if you just want to practice simple interrupted/running sutures, vertical mattress, locking running sutures, and maybe horizontal mattress you’ll probably be fine. Quite difficult to use 6-0 sutures on but the 3-0 and 4-0 are pretty easy with it
