adidasMen's Terrex AX4 Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Shoe

I needed some shoes for a trip to Japan, where I knew I'd be doing a LOT of walking (40k steps a day I think?), but they needed to have some ankle support for walking around parks and temples.I've put an ungodly number of miles into various military boots while I was in. I know how to break in a pair of boots/shoes, how to watch for dangerous wear (that can lead to injury) and all of that. While these aren't full height boots, I'd say they pass the test.I broke them in on a treadmill, and then took them on my 2 week trip as my only shoes. Took them up to the top of the mountain at Senbon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates) with no problems in sight. There was a slight issue with the way they fit my feet (a bit of pressure on one toe) but it never developed into a major problem.They are a tight fit around the ankle, so you won't be slipping them on hands-free, but that's a good thing. You need that support.I can't yet speak to their longevity, but I'm happy with them, especially for the price. Boots are a consumable. They won't last forever. If these fall apart sooner than expected, I'll update my review.

Waterproof comfortable and non slip wore hiking in iceland were perfect

I wanted to give this boot 5 stars so bad. This boot is super comfy and very light. 2 day break in period. Size 12 fits like it should. But unfortunately after 3 weeks of 60 hour work weeks part of the soul is slightly worn down. I don't expect them to last more then half a year at that rate. That being said I am a large guy. So if you are lighter on your toes then I am it may last you longer.

Great quality, non slippery sole. Very light and beautiful. Look no further.

Have used these as my work shoes at my hardscaping job for 2 summers fantastic durability and very comfortable.
