NOT s shape sorter, but a quality toy for imaginative play
My kids teased me because they thought this was the worst puzzle ever, since any of the shapes went into any of the holes. But that isn't why I chose it for my grand-daughter. I love wooden toys, and was surprised at the quality of this one. When I went to visit, we played with Noah and the animals, marching them all over the living room, then up the ramp to the ark.No, it is NOT a shape sorter, as advertised, but if your little one (mine was 18 mos at the time) has some imagination, it can be a fun toy. For those kids who want toys that buzz and beep and spin and move, it would probably be a bust.This ark will last a LONG time, and can be passed down to siblings, then other friends and relatives. I would DEFINITELY buy it again, if I had it to do over.

Wow Just what I was looking for!!!
Hello everyone,I have been looking for an Ark for a long time. Even though this was not exactly what I was looking for, with a little adjustments.Because the animals do come out of place, I had to TAPE them from the inside so they stay in place. Then I purchased some mini animals and put them in the ark. At a christian party I took turn with people putting their hands in the ark and taking out animals, then they had to act and sound like them. It was so much fun.

My daughter’s favorite toy
Most of the animals fit in every hole so it’s not much of a sorter and easy for my daughter to use. She likes to grab as many animals as she can. The animals are well painted and a good size. The smallest ones are the monkey and snake, I added a picture for reference.I took off a star because the animals are only painted on one side and the doors on the ark slap shut surprising loud. They do not stay open and close with little elastic ties. I closed it with my fingers in it and it does not hurt because it is lightweight, but it’s still quite loud.

Daughter loves it, good toy for years.
Our daughter has loved this shape sorter since she was 12months old. The pieces are big enough that she can't swallow them, and it helped us teach her animal names. At this point she just sticks all the animals in whatever cutout she can find.Now that she's 20months, she is getting more interested in trying to fit the pieces in the right way, but I can see this toy being very useful and fun for her for another couple of years.I've been impressed with Melissa & Doug toys build quality, and this one doesn't disappoint. Durability of the ark and the blocks is excellent, and nothing has broken or come loose. I do deduct one star for some of the paint chipping off and/or wearing down from baby saliva, but I'm not sure if there's a perfect solution for that issue anyway.We have another girl come to the house often who is just now 12mo and she loved it as well. We bought one for her 1yr birthday.

very nice product!
I was wanting to get my girl a set of animals to help her learn but i just did not like the buckets of plastic ones. so i went for this and its very well made and nice and big and comes with a descent amount of animals. she loves it! my only complaint is i wished the animals were on each side of the piece. would have been 5 stars if that were the case. def recommend!

Great toy for a young animal lover or child!
I bought this Noah's Ark toy for my son for Christmas 2015. He absolutely LOVED it. The toy is made by Melissa and Doug, which is an amazing company because mostly all of their toys are made of wood which makes them more durable in the long run, especially when you have small children. All the animals come in pairs, so he loves to match them up. All the pieces easily store inside the ark, and you can't tell from the photo, but each piece fits inside the ark like a puzzle, so there are holes in the ark that match with an animal or person.

I bought this toy for a daycare, for primarily ages 2-4. This is a cute toy, but like others have stated, it is easy for the children to just turn the pieces sideways in order to make them fit through any hole. So it kind of defeats the purpose of being a shape sorter. However, the four-year olds who understand what you are supposed to do with this toy, do take their time to try and figure out which hole the animal should correctly go through. This toy also makes the two-year olds happy because they are still able to feel like they are doing what the "big" kids are doing by being able to stick the animals sideways through any hole.I do like how the animals all come in pairs, so at least younger children can use this as a matching game. The children still enjoy playing with this toy though, even if they aren't playing with it the way it was intended.

Overall great quality. Kids haven't played with it yet as it's a Christmas present, but its bigger than I expected and I cant wait for them to open it!
