Davom 52837 ProLock Propane Safety Cap with Lock and 2 Keys

As Michael Coffin stated, the lock is cheap so I packed it with grease in every orifice there was. so far so good.As Lawrence Lyman said, the hole didn't extend outside the metal guard.Pi+rate drilled a hole in the lock to allow the lock to be used outside the metal guard. Others say, even on the rare situations the entire lock assembly works, you can still maneuver your fingers in there and turn it on.This is what I did knowing that; I drilled out just enough of where the turn on gas handle would stick out the very end of the lock only allowing one or two of them to stick out, then I purchased a Master Lock Cable Lock, Python Adjustable...I then ran it through the key lock prior to locking, it then extended it to another hole in the metal guard and tightened it up. Now you can see the gas valve but it is wedged in the lock end where it cannot be turned from either direction. See photos. Yes, the entire lock assemble is mouse, but you can put a little thought into it and fix what was designed wrong.

I purchased this for a grill we keep on company premises. I don't want to keep propane inside the building and we do have an occasional kid or two nosing around our property. If I couldn't lock down the propane tank, we wouldn't be able to have a grill.I gave this four stars because it is still possible to open the valve with the lock in place. I installed this lock but one employee didn't know where the key was and he still managed to open the valve so he could make his lunch.To quote him exactly "it was really hard and hurt my hand,,,but yes,,,you could do an 8th of a turn or so with a few fingers.. so it took like 5 minutes"So I can't give this 5 stars, but at the same time, I believe it is highly unlikely that any trespasser here is going to take the time to screw with it.

I bought this to secure a propane tank in an outdoor location. It works nicely, and keeps people from messing with the valve. My problem with this is the lock, it is NOT weatherproof at all. I put this lock on in November and in a matter of months it was COVERED with rust. I have many other similar padlocks that have been in-use in New England weather for YEARS with NO rust. Of course, you can replace the lock, but you shouldn't have to - hence only 2 stars. :(

These are great ! Easy to use and quick to secure propane from children of all ages ! I bought two and would recommend this design to anyone !

EXACTLY the purpose I wanted and the only product on the market fitting the bill. One wish list -- allow any lock to be inserted into the hard plastic.

This lock achieved exactly what I needed it to....preventing unwanted users of my fire pit table when I’m not there. ;-). It’s an awesome little gadget for something so easy and simple.

Exactly as listed, works as it should.

This valve cap works well but as another reviewer mentions, it is not totally secure. The top of the valve knob is completely covered, but the bottom is only about 2/3 obscured. Still, as long as you tighten the valve firmly,it would be pretty hard to turn the knob with the cap on. Overall it does the job.
