This is an excellent product and worth the investment.As something of a born again chef I have been struggling with recipes that require zesting - the cheese grater simply cannot cope! Then I got this and it has made what was a tricky job simple, fast and almost a joy. I can get far more from the orange/lemon or lime that I can any other way.It is a good size and feels sturdy in the hand, The bladed part comes with a cover.

Every kitchen has to have one of these. What a fantastic product. High quality and does the job perfectly. Perfect zest in seconds without any of the bitter pith at all. Yet in the past I would have had to zest 4 lemons for the same amount I get from one now. Grate a block of parmesan cheese instantly without having bits of your knuckles added in. Easy to clean and love the plastic protective cover. I was a bit concerned about the price for a "grater" but it is 100% worth it has quickly become my favourite kitchen tool.

So my wife asked for one of these for Xmas, so I jumped on the chance and ordered it before I forgot (I know; a real romantic). However, after I ordered it she told me that I should forget about it as she needed one sooner for something she wanted to cook. Since I didn't want to lose the good husband points I told her it was on the way, so I knew she'd want to use it well before Xmas.Well, there was nothing but superlatives from her as she used it: "This thing is great!" "I should have bought one of these things years ago!" "Man, this thing is the bomb!", and so forth. And all that for just zesting some limes.It cleaned up pretty easily as well. She also mentioned she liked the guard that came with the microplane, as you have to flex it a bit to get the plane to slip inside, which helps ensure that you don't wind up accidentally skinning your knuckles as you rummage around in a drawer and the guard has slipped off.While I wouldn't recommend using this as a substitute for roses, if your know someone who likes their time in the kitchen it stands a good chance of being a hit.

This is the best zester I've ever used! It takes just the zest and no white pith. It's really sharp and has kept sharp for a year since it has been bought, and it gets used a lot! If you cook a lot with zest you should definitely get one!

I own it for more than a year now. I use it to grate Parmesan or cheddar like cheeses, cinnamon sticks if i wand some strong kick in a drink or dessert, lemon or orange zest, which does an amazing job, ginger and nutmeg. It is the best I have ever owned, the most effortless, anything is really thin and it is as sharp as the day I got it. If I ever need to buy it again though I might go for the wider professional since you have twice the area to use. Other than that, well done!

A good grater for an enthusiastic cook - does garlic, ginger and nutmeg well. Be careful not to grate your fingers, this is sharp but not discriminating!

Every now and again you buy something worth the space in the kitchen and this is one of them. It’s especially wonderful for zesting citrus fruits and grating small pieces of cheese.

I love this microplane. It makes zesting lemons/oranges an absolute doddle. It is a bit tricky to get all the zest out sometimes, but nevertheless I would highly recommend this item.
