Schaum's Outline of Probability and Statistics, 4th Edition: 897 Solved Problems + 20 Videos

Please clarify that "Schaum's Statistics, 6th Edition" by Spiegel/Stephens is not a newer edition of "Schaum's Probability & Statistics, 4th Edition" by Spiegel/Schiller/Srinivasan. The Prob/Stat book is heavily Mathematical and laced with Calculus and contains a formidable final chapter on Bayesian Methods. The Stat book is free of Calculus and presents results of Statistical software as solutions for several problems in the book. I have waited at least seven years for a 5th Edition of "Schaum's Probability & Statistics", hopefully with a great increase in worked problems and a careful examination for errors. We are all at the mercy of Schaum's as to the future existence of "Schaum's Prob/Stat, 5th Ed". I would also instantly buy "Schaum's 3000 Solved Problems in Probability & Statistics" (in the style of the Schaum's Problem Solvers that began to appear around 1988) if such a work ever came to be.

Clear, rigorous and with a lot of examples. I just would add some examples related to situations of real life, like games or rial historic events.

Schaum's Outline excellent mainly as a companion to textbooks on the subject. The number of problems with solutions are great for practice for those looking to become more nimble at problem solving and/or review/refresher. This one is no exception. While one can use to learn stats and probability, it is not a substitute for a textbook.

Okay, so you have seen books to be or profess to be a book on statistics but this handy book shows a relationship and link to probability. As an outline it has loads of new concepts, but does not require a lot of math to becoming accomplished in practice. In short, it is concise, to the topic at hand, and gives you the necessary steps to compute statistical or probability outputs.

I've been using Schaum's outlines off and on for 40 years: they're good. I was intrigued to see them being sold with "+ videos" sprawled on the cover. But try to find the videos: no links or references in the Kindle book, nothing on the publisher's web site, nothing meaningful returned in a Google search. Sad.

If you wanna be masters in any specific course that is listed in Schaum's Outline just by these books. Containing a lots of numerical and solved problems make this series best.

I needed help with probabilities and statistics for a certification and didn't know where to turn. A professor from Ohio University recommended Schaum's Outlines. The problem sets and solutions are very helpful as a supplement to other texts. It is too condensed to be a stand alone item.
