Incredible art

I love children’s books with powerful ideas behind them. This is a story of grit and perseverance. The great achievers of our world have heard to many times the word “No” or “this is not a good idea” but they keep coming back...

I loved that this story started off by telling about Christopher Colombus as a boy and about how he got the funding for his trip. I wish it had explained a little more about the geography and why it was such a crazy idea, but I was able to talk through it with my two girls (age 4 and 6). This was a really nice introduction to early American History.

Beautiful illustrations! A perfect intro to Columbus for kindergarteners or earlier. The authors note at the beginning made the book especially meaningful.

This book is a wonderful intro to Columbus. It's abundance of beautiful color pictures in an "old" style are accompanied in a simple but informative text. This is a great story to read to a 4 or 5 year old. What a great way to make this story attractive and retainable to a young child.
