Works on my MK7 2016 VW Golf
I took a leap of faith, since this part is made for MK6 and I have a MK7. The MK7 is $300+, so I figured it's worth trying. Works perfectly. I needed to replace it, since it wouldn't latch anymore and showed "Trunk Open" all the time. So happy this worked out. Dealer wanted $800 to do the replace!I bought a $11 torx set from Home Depot. All you need is t20 and t40 to do the install. I couldn't find an M8 at Home Depot, but the t40 fits fine. Super easy install. Tearing off the panel is the toughest part, and pushing it back in. I didn't take the panel off, to make it easier. I just pulled it down enough to do the replace.

Just like OEM
Took me 5 minutes to install, and it works perfectly. Been using it for a month now and no issues.

Works perfectly in 2013 VW Beetle
The trunk latch went out in our beetle last year and the only replacements I could find online were nearly $200, so I've been putting off fixing it. Then, on a whim, I checked Amazon and found this guy for an amazing price.I was skeptical, but figured it was worth the risk to save a lot. I installed it a week ago and it's an identical match and fit to the original actuator. Works like a charm. I should've bought this one a long time ago.

Latch was delivered quickly. It’s only been 2 days since the install, so far it works perfectly.

Solve the problem for less than a quarter of what your dealership will charge
My VW dealership quoted $425 to replace this item on my 2012 Golf. I watched 3 U-Tube videos, realized this was something within my skill set, and ordered the part and tools needed. It all came to about $80 and took me about 30 minutes. Getting the interior trim panel clips to reseat was a bit of a struggle, as was the electrical clip connection, but it looks just like the original unit, works like the original unit, and was well worth the effort. Couldn't be happier.

Lasted for over a month
I hate to write a bad review but this part is only lasted for over a month (started failing couple of weeks after purchase). This is my second actuator from Amazon and both failed within 2 to 3 months. "Well" i guess that's what happened when buying cheap parts... Too late to return this item.Just to follow up: The merchant contacted me and replaced the defective part. Thank you for the quick response! so far so good, no issues yet. I changed the ratings from 2 to 5 based on the positive outcome and good costumer service.
