Perfect book for 1st Communion gift.
I love this book. Lots of bible stories made applicable to a youngster. Each story has a letter to the child from God. It’s beautifully illustrated and nicely written. Highly recommend.

Too much unnecessary fluff and theologically incorrect things
I really wanted to like this book, but there were so many things that were theologically incorrect or added unnecessary fluff to the story. I received the Christmas version of this book as a gift for my girls, which I really love; it was a good short storybook Bible that put the Christmas story into words toddlers can understand, and I loved the little "letters" written as if from God's perspective. I got this book thinking it would be more of the same, which it is, but there were too many times I found myself grimacing at the way a bible story was told. There were too many small details that were not technically how it was written in the Bible or times when there was too much fluff that changed the meaning of the story or missed the point completely. It completely glosses over sin being the reason for Jesus' death, to the point of leaving it out completely. For example:-Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden-- Eve says she shouldn't eat the fruit because God said they'd have to leave the garden-- no, God said they'd surely die-David and Goliath-- too much added fluff comparing David and Goliath, even down to the point of saying what each ate for breakfast-Daniel and the lions/feeding the 5000-- told from perspective of lions and little boy, who were minor characters in the original Bible stories, and consequently leave out major details in the telling because of this perspective.-Choosing the disciples-- Jesus wonders if someone will say yes to following Him, when He knows exactly who will choose Him-Crucifixion-- as mentioned above, the reason for Jesus dying, rescuing us from our sins, is missing completely. It's unfortunate that this was so theologically incorrect. I'd hoped to find a supplement to The Jesus Storybook Bible for reading to my children (which is by far the best children's storybook Bible I've found to date), but I do not want to read Bible stories that completely misses the point of the Gospel and teaches incorrect doctrine. It didn't even add any additional stories to what is in The Jesus Storybook Bible, which is what I'd been hoping for when purchasing a new storybook Bible

A great way of sharing the love of God to children.
Over the last month or so, I read a story and letter from this book to my 3 year old every night. He has loved it and we both enjoy the way the stories are told. The personal letters of God's love are well written. We finished two nights ago and my son asked for a love letter. As a pastor, I appreciate the way the stories are told, so long as you remember that this is a children's book telling bible stories and not a biblical translation. If you go into it expecting the stories as they are exactly in the bible, then you will find differences. However, the stories are memorable and well put together(my son was telling me about fluffy today).Where this book really shines is in the illustrations. They are colorful and eye catching. More than that, they are diverse. Its not all white people but there is a variety of ethnicities in the stories.I am thinking of introducing this book to our sunday school nursery people and giving coloring sheets to match the story for the week.

Sweet little love letters from God!
This book is just adorable in every way. There are eight familiar bible stories in rhyme, eight lift-the-flap letters from God to your child, and eight short and sweet bible verses that tie in to the bible story being told. It is a board book with a soft padded cover, so it is great for toddlers to handle, and the artwork accompanying the text is colorful and fun. Lots to point to and talk about. Read it to your babies and older children too, you are never too young (or old) to hear about God's love for you. And who doesn't love to lift the flap? Or to get a letter of their own? Each letter even starts with Dear _______, so you can write in your child's name. This book is just so unique. What a fun way to show little ones that God knows them, loves them, has promises for them, and is there to communicate with. I love it.

Best gift of the season!
I gave this book to my 11-year-old nephew for Christmas. He's a sports superstar. He rarely s-l-o-w-s d-o-w-n to read. When he opened this very personalized gift, he could not take his eyes off of it. The rest of the family was astounded! Holiday gifts were opened all around - and my nephew only wanted to read this book. His mother and his grandfather were tearing up from the focus that they saw from this boy - who had never shown interest in a book before. Additionally, the book itself was so much more sturdy and beautiful than the representation that I imagined from viewing online. I was very, very impressed with this purchase - and the love and attention that it received from my nephew!

A MUST FOR YOUR CHILD'S LIBRARY
When I heard about Love Letters from God, I couldn't wait to order it. I was not disappointed, the book is even better than I anticipated. Glenys writes very descriptive Bible stories and the stories are very exciting. They are really fun to read or listen to. Then the "crown" has to be given to the letter from God, which not only explains the story in modern day terms but assures the child that God will always be there loving, supporting and forgiving them. Sophie Allsopp's illustrations are great and even "little ones" not talking yet can get the story by just seeing the pictures. I ordered a book for our Church library and for all my young grandchildren. I also tell everyone with children to go get one. Love Letters from God is a must for your child's library !

sons favourite book
Wonderful book, my 4 year old loves it. Bible stories are summarised nicely for the younger reader, the lift the flap letters at the end of each one going over the point of the story are great. Illustrations are beautiful too. The author is a lovely lady too. We met her at school and she signed the book and had a little chat with us.

What warmth and love radiates from these words and illustrations
What warmth and love radiates from these words and illustrations, helping every reader who encounters this book to develop a personal relationship with a loving God.The stories and letters are beautifully written and I particularly loved the bible references presented as 'God's wonderful words to you'! I bought this for my father who has alzheimer's in the hope that it will keep the bible accessible to him and help to strengthen his faith in difficult times ahead.
