I do a bit of old work on houses, and sometimes you run across old switch or outlet boxes that are too small to fit a new device (like a GFI receptacle) and the associated wire nuts. The regular Wago connectors are designed to the the same AWG wiring in every hole, and often that doesn't work. These connectors will take whatever size wire you need in each hole as they lock down independent of each other. Now you can mix 12 and 16 AWG wires, 20 and 24 AWG wires, and everything in between. In addition, they provide a much smaller final connection than wire nuts, allowing better installation into those tight/small old boxes.The levers move easily and you'll feel a slight click as they lock into place. A tug makes sure they're set to go. They ARE more expensive, so I only use them where necessary, but they can be a lifesaver.A good addition to your toolbox.

Wago 221 connectors are really quite convenient, especially in trickier situations where you’re trying to splice solid core with stranded, for example. Or you need to get it apart again for troubleshooting. Or you’re working overhead and it’s extremely uncomfortable. It’s perfectly fine to keep using traditional wire nuts when it’s easy to do so, but there are situations where Wago really makes life easier. It’s also nice for someone who doesn’t have much experience with wire nuts — they’re not complicated, but they do take a little practice to get right.They cost far more than a wire nut, but the Wagos just make everything so much more civilized. If you’re willing to pay the premium that, then you’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of these. And if you’re not, that’s fine too.

These are a great alternative to wire nuts. For anyone doing electrical wiring work who needs to connect wires, these are a great solution. I swear by Wago's, i'll never use a wirenut again, if i dont have to.
