I have a forty eight gallon capacity water butt to which I added twenty four pounds of the meal and left the mixture for four days and then poured the resultant tea over the forty or so plants I have. My roses flowered really well and repeated numerous times during the year. Alfalfa is a great addition for pregnant mares....used it a lot when I bred show shetlands.. low sugar, low starch but highly nutritious, high calorie and high fibre....make sure you soak the product well. It only requires 30 mins soaking.keeps my old Shetland Stallion in top condition over the harshest winter when fed with the grass pellets and sugar free beet.
