Skightly expensive and only Wi-Fi low band but works perfectly with Humax digital Video recorders. Setup within the Humax firmware is compatible and easy. If you have a Humax you need this to complete the capabilities.

Review of 'Whyfi' Humax compatibel wifi dongle WHY0002.Purchased for use with a Humax HDR1800T video recorder.It does work with the Humax, but when plugged directly into the USB socket on the back of the recorder (the only USB socket on this device), the signal it picks up is so weak that the connection is far too slow and unreliable to be usable.This is cured by using an extension lead to locate the dongle away from the Humax and TV.While locating the dongle at the back of the Humax, and beneath the TV is not ideal from a RF signal strength point of view, my phone (running 'Netgear Wifi Analytics' app) indicated a reasonably strong signal at the same location.However, with the use of a USB extension lead, all is working well.

Plugged it into my Humax 1800-T and it connected to my WiFi router with the correct settings.My only reservation is that it is not immediately apparent which way up the dongle fits into the USB port. After trying it each way up (and a bit of 'gentle persuasion') it did connect snuggly.

Handy

Works fine, easy to set up and half the price of a Humax-branded one. Well worth the money and it arrived next day by 1st class post included in the price. Recommended.

Although this Dongle worked straight from the box it's construction let it down.

This was easy to install, just plug in to my HUMAX box and nothing happened. I was using the device to pick up from my router which was only 5 metres away. Perhaps I was unlucky but I had a refund with no problem.
