• Attract Baltimore Orioles and other citrus-loving birds
This feeder attracts a variety of birds that have a taste for citrus fruit—notably oranges. The feeder is compact, built of thick recycled plastic, and has a sturdy design that should allow it to survive the spectrum of weather conditions. On both sides of the feeder are metal spindles to hold orange halves and longer perches that birds can grip while pecking on oranges. The feeder is manufactured in a bright orange color that makes it visible from a distance, and this fact alone should attract birds, associate the color with oranges, and encourage future return visits. When selecting the feeder my main objective was to attract Baltimore Orioles—which it did within an hour of hanging the feeder (see photo). What I did not expect was the fact that several other birds also had a taste for fresh citrus, notably, Red-bellied woodpeckers and Catbirds. There may be others, and I will be watching for them.I replace the orange halves every two days to maintain freshness of the food and because birds will often remove most of the orange pulp in that time. The roof of the feeder partially protects the orange from the drying effects of sunlight and contamination by rain exposure. The large hook for attaching the feeder to a branch or feeder-tree is definitely a plus. The design and construction of this product by the Kettle Moraine company reflects several thoughtful considerations that produced a colorful, compact, and sturdy feeder.

Can't wait for the Orioles to arrive!
I haven't put this out just yet, too early here in New England but it looks great! Can't wait to the see the Orioles arrive!

The orioles seem happy
I put out the feeder about 24 hours ago with a fresh orange half on either side. This afternoon, a male oriole checked out the feeder, and about an hour later, a female came by. This is double the number of oriole sightings from all of last year, so I think it's a positive sign. They seem to be perching and eating comfortably. The feeder is sturdy and simple, which will make it easy to clean. It's a bright, attractive orange color, and it looks nice with the other feeders.

It's nice, BUT...
I bought this a couple of years ago. I think it must've since been redesigned, because the perches on mine are much shorter than the ones pictured in this listing. If they have indeed been lengthened, I'd say that it's a welcomed improvement, because that's my biggest gripe about it. I bought it to attract orioles, but the perches on mine are much too short for orioles. Smaller birds manage to perch & eat the oranges, but I've watched as the orioles struggle to get to the oranges and just can't because the perches are too short. If they have since been lengthened in a redesign, then I'd give this feeder five stars. It's sturdy and well-made. The color hasn't faded at all after two years in full sun, nor has the heavy duty plastic broken down, at all. The metal hasn't rusted either. It's a high quality item. I wish I could still return it, and exchange it for one with longer perches. Scroll through the photos in the listing, and you'll see a pic of the old model that you can compare with the other pics. I'm striking two stars for my own experience, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a newer model with longer perches.

Orioles, finches and woodpeckers love it!
The feeder arrived already assembled. It is very sturdy and easy to load with orange halves. Our birds flocked to it within hours after hanging it outside. It is fun watching the birds enjoying the oranges. I highly recommend this oriole feeder! You won’t be disappointed!

Great feeder!
Love this feeder, now if I could only get my birds to eat from it!! I have been thru a bag of oranges and only had wasps feeding so far. I’m gonna try hanging it in different places.

Adults and Fledglings Love It!
Last year we attracted Baltimore Orioles with a jelly feeder. Determined to offer healthier fare this year, we purchased this feeder since we didn’t have luck with a previous feeder to offer the Orioles oranges (the one that looks like an orange and has a small glass votive for jelly). The first afternoon, we saw one female eating on the side furthest from the house. By the next day, we had a continuous stream of adults and fledglings enjoying the oranges. We love that the product is made from recycled materials, it arrived quickly, and we’re supporting a US business. We’re glad we purchased the option with the little roof since that seems to keep the direct sunlight off the oranges and, unlike one reviewer’s concern, our birds have no issue landing on the perch and turning their heads to eat. Great product—we’ll be sad when the Oriole family migrates!
