Fellowes Cosmic-2 A3 Laminator 5725801

After a lot of scanning back and forth on Amazon's website looking at many laminators I chose the Fellowes Cosmic 2 A4 laminator. I am delighted that I made the right choice: I am so delighted with this productI was happy to give it the five-star rating. The operating instructions provided with it are clear and fully understandable and the results are really very good.

Bought this when jammed up previous laminator while not concentrating on what I was doing. Previous laminator had been very good and had had for many years, even jammed it up once before and managed to free jam. This one looked good and with an 'anti jam' feature I felt it would be worth buying. Have used a few times, (and concentrated on what I was doing each time!), and had good to fair results. Find with this one need to use laminator immediately when it says it is ready (on heated lamination) because if leave for a short while and it cools slightly, it causes the top of the of the page to crease over. If done when first says ready is ok and produces good lamination. Also have to put size of laminator pockets in on this one to match with ones using, which is a bit of a faff but produces good results.

Unlike my last cheaper laminator, this one is bloomin awesome. Once it heats up, it stays hot. Doesnt keep having to re-heat itself. It threw 50 A5 laminates straight though it end to end, closely followed by 10 A3, and all came out perfect.Really quiet laminator too, except for the initial beeping when you switch it on and again once it has heated up.Totally worth the price and glad I went with this one.

I ordered this based on other reviews and it has worked well for nearly a month. However it has just swallowed a pouch and there is no way of recovering it. The release button seems to do nothing! The manual is woeful, the website is all about sales and the customer care number goes to voicemail-really poor experience and incredibly frustrating-AVOID!

Adequate but not remotely comparable to its predecessor laminator. When buying be aware that Fellowes have changed their model-designations for the worse with their newest wave of laminating kit. Effective downgrading the quality of laminator on sale at each price point.Whereas the original Cosmic model was a heavy duty laminator, capable of dealing with almost anything thrown at it, the Cosmic 2 is a massive downgrade in terms of build quality and capability. It's not up to schoolroom use, probably only occasional office usage, which is disappointing for a laminator in this price range. No setting for 250 micron sheets either, which limits your pouch choice.I bought this after a good experience with the original Fellowes Cosmic, and thought I was buying more of the same, but massively let down by what is a pretty poor choice for anyone needing to do a load of laminating.In the end have given this away and bought the much more expensive but fast, effective and bombproof Fellowes Voyager. If you want a decent laminator go for that one and give this one a miss. If you want a cheapish, not terribly well designed or built low volume laminator, this fits the bill but there are equally capable lower priced options own there.

I am very pleased with this home office laminator. It is easy to use and I chose it because it does A3 sheets and has anti - jam facility, which I needed as that is why I had to throw away my previous laminator of a cheaper make. So far I haven't had any laminating sheets jam.

When I bought my machine it was advertised as capable of 2 x 125 micron pouches. It is, it says so on the box, but only for quite small format stuff and I wanted 2 X 125 micron at A3. (It is now advertised as 2 x 100 micron.)As I had to do some laminating this weekend I thought I'd try 2 x 125 A3 pouches as that was what was required (and all I had in the drawer.) It worked fine. Ho hum.Fast warm up it's not and it's probably the slowest through feed laminator I've ever used, but the test is the quality of the finished product and that appears to be good. So mixed feelings about this one.It's good but not as good as the sales puff would have you believe.DN
