Williams-Sonoma Collection: Pie & Tart

A friend sent me this book. After tasting the excellent coconut pie and crust a family member wanted the recipe. I purchased this copy to pass along to him. I have other books in this same series and am pleased with all makes from them so I look forward to trying more recipes in this book. BTW, the crust recipe is excellent and I even made it gluten free. If pies and tarts are your thing I don't think you will be disappointed.

I bought a bunch of these here on Amazon for a few dollars each for my daughters who expressed interest in learning how to entertain and cook for themselves and company, most of the books in the series are great for just this purpose, being a Disabled Veteran on a fixed income I really wouldn’t want to pay the full retail price and judging by the sheer abundance of used copies for next to nothing I am not the only one who didn’t.TLDR great when bought used recommended at a used price.

I own a lot of William Sonoma cookbooks and this one is also a jewel. Beautiful photos, delicious and easy recipes. I have used a lot of dessert recipes on William Sonoma's website and decided to get the book where all my favorites reside.

This is a nice recipe book that has a decent selection of pies, tarts and galettes in it. There is a nice little index of definitions, instructions and pie crust making basics. I also like the selection of recipes in this book. There are lots of fruit and non fruit choices.

The Pie and Tart book from Williams-Sonoma is a real find for anyone who enjoys baking and a great dessert. I was told that if you find one recipe in a cook book you are doing well. The first four I tried in this book were great and I haven't gotten to all the ones that look good. In addition this collection doesn't suffer from the problem sometimes found in other Williams-Sonoma recipe books; namely the use of ingredients that are difficult or impossible to find. This good solid baking and great eats.

I am known as the pie expert in my family and I owe all my success to simply following these recipes. I have now gifted this cookbook to my brother in law, so I no longer have any secrets. These pies are too good to keep to myself. I've baked at least a half dozen of the recipes and have never been disappointed.

Received today and it looks like new. Very good condition. Will be a pleasure cooking up some Pie & Tarts very soon.

I was looking for a pie cookbook that could kick it up a notch. Williams and Sonoma did just that. Great details and instructions to making that beautiful pie. I've only made three of the recipes so far and would have to say the Lemon was a great achievement.
