TACCOM Remington TAC-14 Nylon Forearm Safety Strap (Black)

The instructions that came with it made it sound like it would be best to remove the barrel and the Magpul grip, but mentioned it would take a lot of patience to install it with the grip attached. Took me less than 10 minutes with a pair of needle nose pliers and a screwdriver. The back side of the grip has a groove already built into the grip so you can simply slide the "nuts" into the groove, move them into position and set the screws. It's the front (muzzle side) of the grip that is without a groove the requires needle nose pliers. TIP: Remove the tube cap so you have more flexibility with the pliers.

I bought this for my Mossberg 590 Shockwave after putting a Magpul Moe forend on it. It required me to disassemble to install it but it was well worth the effort. I was having trouble gripping it after adding a center mass laser so decided to get this for safety. Having this bad boy jump out and back behind my hand was all the convincing I needed so I unashamedly ordered a sissy strap 🤣. I installed it differently than suggested and it is very comfortable and tighter around the hand. The recoil is spread out along the web between my pointer and thumb and is much easier to manage. I can confidently bring it up to eye level to aim with the bead now because my grip is rock solid on the forend as I pull towards the target. Instead of fabricating or rigging up some M-lok sling swivel and/or hand stop contraption this was a much cheaper and convenient option. Couldn't recommend it more.

Liked the look and fit

Frankly, this was far too easy to install without any removal of the fore end. It took only about minutes- and that long only because I secured the first 2 screws in the strap holes backwards and had to remove 1. Easy mistake, but still very easy to secure. Add some pre-cut grip tape and you now have a very firm and confidence-inspiring grip to your "little friend". A must-have accessory, the strap and tape are the base one-two punch that should be added first to your TAC 14. Then...buy the +1 breecher...

Great product. Better safe than sorry. The ONLY problem : after you reassemble the weapon verify there is NO contact with the barrel band. This will be the front screw. (most forward on the slide handle) Mine had scratched the barrel only slightly. That is a close tolerance space between the slide handle and the barrel band. Solution : verify you are using the SHORTEST screw. Only if by 1 or 2 threads. And then use the EXTRA washer provided. Double washer that screw. Problem solved. And I did use a drop of medium strength loc-tite on each screw prior to installation. Hope this helps someone !

The strap was easy to install. It is a good idea, but poor design. I installed and put 25 rds through it and the strap pulled away from the screws. Might need a beefier washer, or a strap made of leather. I don't know.On to see if I can fix it.....

The install was a little challenging, as I did not have a forearm removal tool, but I improvised. Once off, it was not difficult to install, and makes a very nice improvement in the control of the firearm.
