Guyana is often categorised as the Caribbean; but is primarily South American.. hence the various spicy, colourful, mouth-watering cuisine. If you’re Guyanese, you will no doubt appreciate the tremendous effort of the author to concretise Guyanese traditions thru’ the exciting flavours of its food —and the Guyanese people’s love of food! However, if you’re not —you will recognise the eclectic combinations derived from the a-typical foods of the six ethnic Guyanese groups. If your kitchen is not filled soon with friends and relatives who love delectable, exotic food.. then you have not bought Deborah Barocas’s recipe book..So go get it. Trust me.. I love Guyanese cooking. The recipes in this book are out of this world. The author has done a good job in explaining and detailing the cooking steps thus eliminating hit and misses. Great book.
