MinnKota MKA-40 Fisherman's Barometer

This unit is very accurate for it's intended use. It belongs in every fishermans box and hunters cabin. It's a little big for the pocket, although I'll carry it on hikes some. It's always good to know that the pressure is not dropping.

I choose this barometer for various purposes. I'm an avid fisherman, a Paranormal Investigator, and get migrain headaches when the barometric pressure changes rapidly. This unit is PERFECT for all these needs. It even has a dial on the back to adjust for altitude, which is great since I live 300 feet above sea level and would get an inaccurate reading if the elevation isn't accounted for. The Fisherman's Barometer is very durable and suprisingly accurate. In the scientific Paranormal Investigator's world, all variables should be taken into consideration. Barometric pressure is one that is often overlooked. And all seasoned Anglers know that air pressure is directly related to fish activity. All-in-all, the MinnKota MKA-40 is well worth the cost.

Picked this up to have on the boat so I know what's going on. Had it a couple weeks now and every time I look at it, it is dead on with what the pressure is reading at the local airport, which is a few mile from our house. I'll post back on its durability at a later date.I did have to 'calibrate' it a touch though by twisting the back dial until it read what the local pressure was. No big deal. The back dial indicates it is calibrated to 200ft above sea level when I know for certain I am at 20ft. Once that was done though, it is dead on with local readings.
