US Tape 68900 DuraWheel Measuring wheel DW-PRO 12.5" wheel; Ft/10ths; with carry case

I’ve been in the roofing estimation business for 15 years. Using a measure wheel to measure roofs cuts the work by more than half and makes it much safer. I’ve paid 50, 60, 70 and $80 for what I thought were good quality measuring wheels that I’m lucky to get through one summer with. It seems some component of the wheel would break or malfunction at some point and I would just trash it and go buy another one. When I went to get my next one it occurred to me maybe there is a much better quality product on Amazon. Sure enough this is it. If you’re like me and you use this kind of tool frequently it is worth every penny to spend the extra money for this high-quality product as it will save you in the long run. Highly recommend for professional use.

I had a previous wheel that was a tad under half the cost of this wheel. There were many reasons it was bothering me, but almost all of the reasons centered around the fact that it felt cheap and appeared to not be solidly built. It mostly worked and got the job done. But what finally made me look for a better option was when I recently did a decent sized run of about 300 feet. I measured it twice and I was almost 20' off on my two runs. I did some more tests and I found similar issues on other runs.With this US Tape measuring wheel, I have nothing but good things to say. The wheel has some good weight to it and it runs true. The carrying case is nice and it is easy to fold up and take out. It is just night and day versus my older cheap measuring wheel. If you are thinking about buying a cheap wheel, I would strongly encourage you to upgrade to a nicer wheel such as this one. The build quality, reliability, and features are just so much better. I truly feel that this wheel will last me decades, instead of having to look at replacing other wheels over time. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Our agency has bought these before and we have had good luck with them. The only issue encountered was one of them must have a defective spring in the latch that locks the two halves of the handle in place during use. I have to manually slide the latch to lock it. No big deal, but I didn’t even know it was defective until someone else used mine and told me. Otherwise no problems. Good product!

Great price and product for or construction company

Less than a year of using this, and the kickstand will not stay in the upright position and keeps flopping over while I’m trying to measure. Very disappointed for the price I paid. Going to try their competitor for $40 this time.

This was a HUGE upgrade from my last measuring wheel!! I love it!! so easy to use and goes over gravel with ease.

I am a telecommunications engineer and I use this wheel pretty regularly. I have had it since 2011, it is my second one, I left the last one on the side of the road when I was in a hurry packing up my equipment to get home.This wheel has everything I need, I take a measurement and hit the brake while I put the kickstand out and prop the wheel, write down my measurement and go. It allows me to backtrack if I decide that I need something and I passed it already. I can zero it out from the grip easily. Where this wheel really excels is in the brush, it has a narrow frame and I don't worry about it folding up like some of the other wheels I have used. The measurements I take count! My company is ordering cable based on what this thing says, if I am wrong I am in big trouble, the measurement is accurate. I stake my livelihood on it...I have two cons:1) sometimes it doesn't start. I used to get all the way through a span and look down at the wheel and it is stuck at 9999, now I keep an eye on it, when it take off. To be fair this did not happen with my previous wheel, the one I lost. :(2) MUD, I have struggled with mud and this wheel ever since I have owned it. It has gotten to the point that I try not to work in the mud if I can help it, which I really can't. It has a "squeegee" that is intended to prevent mud getting into this thing, but in the worst stuff it does no good. It can totally seize this thing up.Overall I love this wheel and I use it regularly, I depend on it. Most of my co-workers are jealous of it, some have gone out and bought their own. There may be a better wheel on the market, but I haven't found it.

The DuraWheel so far - have only had it 2 months - is a great wheel - far, far superior to the Komelon mk6012 I purchased prior to the DuraWheel . I like the fact that you can reset the the counter from the handle and not have to bend down each time you need to do a reset. The handle also locks your measurement in case you have to pick up and move the wheel over something and then continue your measurement. The kickstand is also a very useful feature and seems to be made far stronger than the Komelon I had before (The kickstand on the Komelon snapped and broke and I could no longer use it.) Shipping and delivery were excellent and quick.
