Stansport Camp Axe

Perfect size and weight to take for camping. Fits right in a backpack! Blade is nice and sharp with a blade guard. Feels solid and perfect for the job with camp fires. Grip feels comfortable like a hammer or golf club. I recommend this if your looking for something compact to bring camping.

It's just an Estwing Camp Axe clone. And not much cheaper then an estwing. Axe came in a Beat up box and the packaging inside was destroyed. The axe came in damaged. Rusted, sold as NEW and came in like it was beaten then sent back. Product somehow left the factory like this? I have more photos of damages and rust along with defects BUT Amazon won't let me load them. Item is also made in China 🇨🇳 the wait time was well over the 2 days prime promise too. Only reason I'm keeping this axe is cause they are going way up in price and getting harder to get especially one that's a near perfect clone with black handle I much prefer Over the blue of estwing. Had this NOT came in beat up, damaged and rusted I would have gave it a 5 start rating with a HIGHLY recommended review. Hoping that IF I get another one it's gonna come in as described and in NEW condition. But... just spend the extra and buy an estwing that's made in USA with pride and quality backing it.

Ok so I did give this as a gift but my husband looked at it and thought it was a nice axe.

Got these for a group gift to keep all our campers safe. Nice basic cheap hatchet, everyone needs one. Comes VERY dull, be prepared to sharpen it for a while before it's anything but wall decoration.

I usually read reviews to make informed decisions about things, but I figured other than cheap build how can you mess up a hatchet?? This thing is DULL. It just bounces off the wood. I feel very unsafe using it to try and split kindling. My axe works better. I have a couple weeks to return it still and am thinking about grinding it down to a sharp blade, but I also want to buy the correct tool the first time. This thing is more like a mini maul/splitter than it is a hatchet. You need a lot of force to get it stuck in the wood. Then with the impact of the massive swing you have to use, your grip gets bad because you have to squeeze tighter. Also the vibration through the handle from thudding instead of splitting just drains your energy. I do not recommend this at all.

Is nice to have handy. I didn't like that it wasn't sharp. It has a very sturdy handle. Nice curve design. The weight was also evenly distributed which makes it easier to use.

Edge was not sharp enough. I understand it was for safety reason. And I liked it. Nicely balanced for small job. Easy to carry. Comfortable grip. Safe for teen age outdoor enthusiastic kids. I bought it for my teen age son who found it very useful for his camping. It was a good tools for chipping pre-cut firewood into even smaller pieces for fire. Good tools only for small jobs.
