These bags/ pouches have a rubbery feeling material on the ouside and are insulated with some material for thermal protection, the inside of the pouches are smooth. The overall dimensions are correct, but because the pouch is on the stiff side, getting larger size items in side is difficult. The zipper on the large pouch wouldn't stay zipped, I had to zip/ unzip it several times, hoping it would repair itself, which it did. Thick documents didn’t fit unless they were folded in half, limiting how much you and put in the pouch. The smaller pouches worked fine for collectable trading cards and cash. Since I'm not wealthy, it worked for my emergency cash. I would suggest purchasing the larger fireproof file holder that is square and more box like in shape for keeping documents flat. I plan to get one for myself shortly.
