superb fluid test tool with measurement readout that informs
It's ideal tool to explain whether you need to spend your money on a brake fluid change, coat £15 and saved me a £90 fluid change.the only reason you change brake fluid oils is either particle contamination, which cannot happen in most cars under 7 years old, or water moisture absorption which builds up over time. so this device tells you the specific percentage moisture level with enough accuracy to be meaningful. Great way to make decisions and save money with risking any safety issues

Works well, buzzer could do with a switch
This little test pen is something I've never really thought about using, usually I just throw out any open fluid I have after the recommended time without testing it, with this you can actually check if the fluid you have open is still useable which not only saves throwing out useable fluid but also saves you putting unsuitable fluid into a braking system that may have had moisture ingress from a bad bottle seal and you wouldn't know without testing first. I do most of my vehicle servicing myself so little gadgets like this make the whole thing that much more effective, being able to put good quality brake fluid into a braking system first time saves a lot of hassle from flushing and replacing it.It's a basic setup with 2 buttons, one for turning it on and one for selecting the fluid type, when testing the applicable fluid you'll get a 3 level indicator depending on moisture level, green for good, amber for needs replacing and red for needs replacing immediately. The colours work well but what for me personally feels a little unnecessary and a little annoying is the buzzer, it beeps slowly for amber and rapidly for red, something which if it was a dangerous to health issue like a high voltage or presence of harmful chemicals I'd understand and want a robust warning for, it just seems a little overkill for slightly moist brake fluid, the red and amber lights would be plenty enough warning to get it changed I feel and there's no option I can see to turn it off, I may end up opening it up and detaching the buzzer because I can see it getting on my nerves over time...Other than that slightly annoying feature it seems to work well for what it's intended for and I'm sure it'll be a useful addition to my toolbox.

Efficient brake fluid tester, clear and easy to use.
The media could not be loaded. Handy tool to check brake fluid for water absorbance to ensure it is fit for ongoing service. The tool appears to be made of good quality plastic and the battery polarity information is clearly embossed on the case where it is easy to see. Operation is simplicity itself, turn it on, select the DOT specification via the blue button and then dip it in a sample or in the reservoir on the vehicle it will then show green (good) if below 2% moisture, yellow caution and red definitely change. They describe how to test it is working OK by using good fluid, water and a combination of the two. It works for DOT 3, 4 and 5.1 and means that you are only changing or replacing fluid when you need to rather than periodically.

Easy to operate and useful.
I don't know exactly how accurate this device is (or needs to be), but it gave the expected and consistent results, and I am confident that it serves its purpose, of telling you when brake fluid contains too much moisture and needs replacing or disposing of.The handheld device takes the form of a fat pen, and is powered by two AAA batteries (supplied). There is a small LED display that lights up automatically, and two control buttons. One switches the tester on and off, and the other selects one of the three types of fluid to test (DOT3, DOT4, DOT5.1) by repeated presses. A cap is removed to reveal two short meta probes that are fully dipped into the fluid for three seconds, when a reading will be displayed. If the water content is too high for safety, a buzzer sounds slowly, and at higher levels, when it needs immediate replacement, the buzzer will beep more rapidly. The backlight changes from green to yellow to red in each successive state. I tried it in some fresh fluid in the clutch reservoir, which checked out all right, then in the brake fluid, which set off the alarm. I was not sure what the fluid was, so I tested as DOT3 and then DOT4. The reading was too high in each.Of course in a situation like that, with fluid of unknown type and age, it is sensible to replace it anyway. I also checked some very recent fluid in an open jar from the previous day's bleeding. This was also rated as unusable by the device.I have known about the hygroscopic nature of conventional clutch and brake fluids for some time, and the consensus seems to be that water will be absorbed to an unacceptable level over a period of months, or perhaps a year or two, even when tightly closed. But there was always some uncertainty about the status of unused fluid, as well as that in the system. How long is too long on the shelf? How well-sealed is it? This £14.99 instrument takes out the guesswork, and for that, it must be worth five stars.

Handy tester to have
Confession.. this is an area of car maintenance I have always neglected until lately. Decided to purchase when the dealership kept telling me my year-old car needed a $199 brake fluid flush. Checked tester on brand new bottle of dot3 and confirmed 0% reading. Tested cars fluid at 1.4%; passing. So helped me keep the dealership honest. Tested my two other 10+ year old cars (never flushed), found borderline failing, so found vids on how to DIY. This is a handy little tester. Seems accurate though can’t verify 100% without a standard solution. Can be trickier to use on some smaller-curved reservoirs Due to diameter. Would recommend.

Buen producto
