Intelligent PID Temperature Humidity Controller Multifunction Automatic Egg Incubator Thermometer with LCD Display and Two Sensor 100V-240V AC (ZL-7901A)

We were initially looking at industrial automation systems but decided to try this product for testing purposes (we needed a complex combination of heating, cooling and dehumidification, plus periodic air cycling). It worked so well that we've designed the rest of our facilities using these systems. Well worth the money. Instructions provided are clear.

I bought this controller to run a new incubator in building. The product looks great, but does not function as described. I originally tried to run the heating element off of the heater output which lead to the incubator over heating as the heating element would hold full temp until reaching the desired temp and would hold enough heat to bring the incubator up 1°c higher than my desired. I hooked it up with a solid state relay and attempted to auto tune the controller. The instructions state this should only take an hour.. yet it took over 12 hours and even running the element with pid, it takes forever to heat up, and drops 3° Celsius before it will begin to heat up again. The unit will also not allow me to access parameter “u93” which is needed.

So far, so good. I'm retro fitting my older GQF with more precise controls and automation. The terminals on the back are very small. That being said, might want to run any large element control through a separate relay. It operates my small 1/4 selenoid valve with misting nozzles nicely.

Temperature control works, BUT, humidity control, illumination, left turning and right turning relays do not work! I am very disappointed

Update: It appears that the temperature alarm does work, but only if it is displaying in Celsius. As a result, I have raised my overall rating to three stars.Original: It is a very controller. I am using it in an incubator to maintain temperature, humidity and turn the eggs clockwise and counter clockwise. But, it has some flaws. The external alarm circuits (R8 and R9 in the circuit diagram) do not appear to work. I am using U40 set to 2 (Temp/Humidity high/low alarm) but R8 never energizes and R9 never de-energizes whether the temperature or humidity is in range or out of range. If you connect an alarm to R8, it never energizes and if you connect an alarm to R9, it never stops alarming. The second weakness is that it controls the circuits by connecting the neutral circuit, not by distributing power. This results in motors that can rotate both CW and CCW cannot be controlled because both directions use the same neutral wire. You have to use separate relays to energize either the CW or CCW windings of the motor.
