Burley Travoy, Compact Folding Cargo Bike

We use this for cargo hauling when travelling in our motorhome. We don't pull a car so our bikes are our means of getting supplies. Bought a 36"x13"x13" canvas duffle bag (Stansport) and the extra Burley "universal" bag clips to keep it secured from the top and bottom clip points. I also wrap the strap around the top of the Burley frame to distribute the weight off the fold out shelf. It's hauled about 40 pounds of groceries at a time. We've also used it for moving our 50lb inflatable kayak, paddles and PFDs from where we're parked to local rivers and the Burley did that no problem although it's a tight fit between the wheels. Very compact for storage which is important in an RV. Super happy we bought this.

But so versatile, and no other product come close to it's versatility, so bite the bullet i guess. Very happy with how manoverable it is , even in realy tight pathways it follews withot geting hung up in corners, it stays on path. Impressve.

4年前に、ロードバイクでキャンプに行きたくなり、初期型を購入しました。 当時の価格は3万円代でしたが、今はずいぶん価格が高騰しちゃいましたね…。 今回は、eバイクの購入に合わせて、トラヴォイも新調しました。 初期型との大きな違いは、シートポストへの接続金具。工具を使わず簡単に脱着でき便利です。 カラーリングにもバリエーションが増えましたが、個人的には特徴のある色を使わずに、卒なく、ブラックやグレーのモノトーンカラーがあるとよかったのにって思います。 私は、このトラヴォイに、15キロ程度の荷物を積んで、40キロほどバイクを走らせキャンプに行きますが、トラヴォイを引いて走っていることを忘れてしまうほどスムーズに走れる印象です。 トラヴォイを引いて走行している時に注意が必要なのは、荒れている舗装道路の段差です。最悪の場合、トラヴォイがひっくり返ります。そうなると、バイクとトラヴォイの接続部分の部品に、かなりのダメージがあり、私は初期モデルで、樹脂製の部品を折ってしまいました。 メーカーに直接問い合わせて、折れた部品を取り寄せることができましたが、トラヴォイ本体についてしまったキズは、消すことができませんでした。 もう一つ注意が必要なのは、トラヴォイを取り付けるシートポストの材質です。 メーカーに確認しましたが、カーボン製は強度不足なので、アルミ製を推奨するとのことでした。それでもカーボン製シートポストを使いたい方は、あくまでも自己責任でお願いします。 私は、アルミ製シートポストに交換しました。 今回、数年ぶりに、敢えてトラヴォイを新調したのは、使い勝手の良さに尽きます。 サイクルトレーラーとしての機能はもちろん、旅の途中で立ち寄る道の駅などで、バイクは駐輪場に止め施錠しますが、トラヴォイに載せた荷物は、バイクから取り外し、カートとしして手で引いて歩くことで、荷物盗難の心配がなくなるからです。 この他にも、本体重量が軽量にも関わらず、作りがしっかりしていて丈夫なことや、簡単に折りたたんで収納できることなどがあり、また暫くの間、サイクリングキャンプで活躍しそうで楽しみです。
