Perfect wash/conditioner for wool.
I use Euclan lavender for all my woollens. I change my handknit socks every day and soak in Euclan, 3-5 pairs at a time in a small bucket of tepid water, about 3 litres, with a full cap full of Euclan. Soak for 30 minutes to one hour. Gentle spin in a ‘delicates’ bag in the machine, no rinse just spin. Perfect results every time. I have washed my socks like this for the last year and they come out clean and beautifully perfumed. I think the comments of others who say it doesn’t clean are probably either not using it concentrated enough ( I use a capful to 3 litres water or less; as opposed to the recommended capful to 5 litres ) or as they themselves have stated, the woollens they are washing are excessively dirty and probably would benefit a pre-wash. Personally for bodily fluids and mud I would use Persil Silk and Wool or Tesco have an equivalent product but not so pleasant smelling! Then I would soak in Euclan to recondition. I can’t understand the negative comments about the Lavender fragrance, it smells of lavender! My jumpers emit a beautiful subtle lavender fragrance for days after, can’t keep my nose out my sweaters! But if you really find it unpleasant then use the fragrance free! I have nothing but praise for this for ALL my handknits and thoroughly recommend its use. I think if your woollies are smelly / dirty you need to use it double strength.

The only product I use to wash wool, cashmere and silk
Second time to order Eucalan Fine Fabric Wash in lavender. Having ordered it a second time I think says a lot about how pleased I am with it. It is easy to wash wool, cashmere or silk and I like that it gently cleans while also leaving the slight scent of lavender to prevent moths (a big problem in Scotland). I think you could also use it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle but I prefer washing delicate items by hand. It is also very concentrated so just a little goes a long way.

Amazing Eucalan!
Fabulous product! Worked well on a silk/alpaca mix and acrylic yarns. The perfume is a pleasant, delicate, suggestion of lavender and is not overpowering. My knitted items are soft and silky and a real pleasure to wear.

Washing Product
This product although quite expensive to buy is well worth it. I was recommended by a friend to wash my hand made quilts. It is brillant, no rinsing, just soak and spin/drip dry. The after fragrance is lovely (you get choices). I now use it on my delicates ~ jumpers, silk blouses etc, it also last for ages and you only use a cap full.

Best wool wash ever
I love the smell of the lavender and it’s so easy to use. I steep my woollens in a Luke warm basin and leave them for 15-20 mins. The eucalan leaves my clothing smelling fresh and leaves the clothing nice and soft.

TL;DR -- it got these pants clean just by soaking them! Great product & I definitely recommend it. I've gotten a lot of wool clothing over the past year and a half. Eucalan does an excellent job cleaning it, and keeping it soft and odor-resistant. It's easy to use-- add 1 teaspoon per gallon of lukewarm water (I usually use 1 tablespoon in a 3-gallon bucket). Gently squeeze the water through clothing, soak for 15+ minutes (I do half an hour), squeeze out the excess & lay clothes on a drying rack. Happily my washing machine has a "drain & spin" setting, so I use that instead of squeezing out the water by hand. The Eucalan is most effective if you DON'T rinse it out. I slopped a bunch of sludge-water on my pants while cleaning a plaster trap (see photo) but was confident that Eucalan could clean them. I didn't get around to washing them until a day later, but I still didn't bother pre-washing or rinsing out the stain first. I just used twice as much Eucalan, since it says to use more for heavily soiled items, and followed the directions above. The pants came out perfectly clean, just a few little specks left in the stitching which were only noticeable since I was looking closely. Leaves a pleasant, but faint, lavender scent.

Gentle, effective, and perfect for delicate fabrics like wool, knits, and lingerie. The no‑rinse formula with lanolin softens and protects fibers, and the lavender scent is pleasant without being overpowering. Works well for hand‑wash or gentle machine cycles. A little pricey, but worth it for preserving special garments.

It's a very safe product for natural fibres.
