These tools are a little crudely made, with the spiral adjustment worms catching slightly when wound up or down.The large and medium wrenches can open to 30mm width, with the small one achieving 22mm. The quality seems average overall, with a matt plastic sleeve over the handles to give a good grip.The jaws have millimetre markings under them to help speed up adjustment, which are accurate.For just under £20 the price is reasonable . Packaging is one simple plastic sleeve in a cardboard box. There are no quality test markings on the tools or packaging.

Do what they should

The TOOLZILLA Adjustable Wrench Set was supplied in a branded cardboard box 262 x 75 x 42mm and with a bit of heft to it given that there is a set of three adjustable wrenches within. The three wrench sizes are largest – 26 x 7cm with a max jaw width of 32mm, mid-sized is 21 x 6cm with a max jaw width of 30mm and finally the small sized one is 16 x 5cm with a max jaw width of 24mm.This is a very handy set for DIY around the house, and since taking possession of them I have used them on multiple occasions, for such tasks as loosening a light fitting nut, taking a radiator off a wall to blow high pressure water through and clean it, removing a tap, and fitting a dog grill to a car. Very versatile in use, the adjustment wheels on all three are clean and do not stick – you can wind them up and down quickly, and they have grippy coating on the handles to help prevent slippage. The only thing I could quibble with is that the holes for hanging these on a tool wall are inconsistent, the biggest wrench has the largest hole but then the smallest has the next largest and the mid-sized has a very small opening – go figure. I’m not holding that against this set though – it is well made and good value.
