Outstanding gauge! Worked perfectly for my husband during his engine building endeavor.

Bought this for my engine rebuild. I had to figure out how to measure with it as the instructions are not the clearest. It’s good to 3 decimal points, plus a half thou when exceeded. This was enough for my purposes. If I need a more accurate value, I use a Plastigauge. Basically, you first need to find the right stem, potentially in combination with a spacer, that fits in the ID you wish to measure. Note that the little nib on the opposite side of the stem needs to touch and be able to deflect within the ID of the cylinder you’re measuring. Once you have the ‘dial’ indicator rigged properly, you then measure the length of the measuring end, and to determine the actual diameter, subtract the indicated ‘compressed’ value from the uncompressed length of the measuring tool. My engine piston sleeves definitely need to be replaced.

Accurate to 0.0005", or 5/10,000", or 0.01mm. Or "half a thousandth". In other words, the precision leaves just a little too much uncertainty regarding some particularly tight tolerances in my rebuild. Otherwise, great product all around. It's a good value, but it was the wrong tool (for me) to cheap out on. Just a matter of time until you need it and the batteries are dead though. Sure to be annoying.

Klare Kaufempfehlung für Anwender, die Wert auf Genauigkeit zu einem erschwinglichen Preis legen.
