DIY Float Valve Controlled Chicken Waterer,1/2" PVC Tee Fittings,Chicken Water Cups,Poultry Quail Duck Waterer,Automatic Chicken Watering System

As stated in other reviews the cups can leak easily, I find the biggest issue regarding leaking is that if you over tighten then the seal doesn’t prevent leaking, but too loose and the chickens will twist the cups slightly and then they just keep running water nonstop. I am going to go out and re-seat them with silicone when I get the chance. For now I just check them when I can and turn them back upright. The other issue is the connector from the float to a water hose. It won’t for a standard garden hose without an adapter it is too narrow so I had to go get an adapter before I could connect it to running water. This also gives it on more point for a possible leak. I used lots of plumbers tape. The plumbers tape that came with the kit is crap. Use your own. But after all is said and done once it is set up properly and leaks are all sealed it is a nice setup and save me a lot of time and keeps the birds in clean fresh water. I only with I didn’t have week of overnight freezes because I will have to go back to filling a water bowl for a week after being spoiled with this system.

I had previously used a system that hooked right into the main water of the house. The large trough would get gross from the standing water. I thought a more closed system would work better.I decided to get a 5 gallon food-safe bucket to use as the main water holder. The installation of the float and the outlet was really easy with the included drill bits.You will need 1/2 inch PVC to complete the job, along with the pvc primer and glue. The parts all went together well and everything is watertight.The float works well to turn off the water when the bucket is full.I installed the parts so the system can be taken apart to be cleaned easily. It is a good system that will work well for my chickens.

The cups leak constantly. I used to fill the water berrel once a week, now I have to fill it every day. I tried 8 different cups. They all leak. I even tried using pvc cement to attach the cups hoping it would seal it. Nope.

The product is well made and easy to install. However the seals between the cup and the pipe are not good quality. They are to soft so the cup can not be tightened to where it won’t be turned over by the animal using it. If tighten to much the seal bulge out and leak.

Simple to install and works well.

I loved the idea of this system and its functionality. However, I would like to see the the instructions have a list of tools and pieces you will need to provide yourself under the items they provide. Such as, a drill to cut the holes, 8 screws, large tote or bucket to house the water, pvc pipe cutter,1/2 pvc pipe, pvc cleaner/adhesive, and a fitting to attach to the float. That’s quite a few necessary items that would have been nice to get together before going outside and realizing at each point the kit didn’t come with everything. Other than that, it’s working really well for me so far.

This was very easy to put together, and now I have a 55gal water system for my chickens!
