Variable Speed ECM Pool Motor 1/2 hp 2-SPD 56J 208-230V Century # ECM16CU

My Superpump VSP motor connected to automation went out. This is NOT an identical replacement, but it is the recommended only option. The unit will not connect to my Hayward automation. I have to manipulate the timers and speed to make it function kind of like the original. This requires well thought out coordination between automation timers and cycling the pump power supply. Tech support has been non-existent and Hayward is useless since Covid hit two years ago. As a stand alone unit, it would be fantastic for someone. Built in times/speed control and freeze protect. Unfortunately, it does NOT have an actual clock. You set it to run X number of hours at X speed (variable number of hours and speeds and up to three different lengths of time and speed). It runs those hours, shuts off, and restarts at whatever time you initially started it on the next day. If the power goes out, the time cycle starts all over from the beginning at whatever time the power returns. Had I know it was going to function this way, I would have installed an entirely new pump of a different model. And for what it's worth, I have over 30 years experience as a pool service/repair tech so I kinda know a thing or two.

Our old motor was burning up our electric bill so we took the leap and had this on installed by our Pool Guy. We are still new on how to get the setting exactly how we want, but it's pretty easy to use.

Controller failed after 1 year, no support from the manufacturer or seller who both tried to tell me to call the other for help. but it seems there are no replacement parts for this. Was nice while it lasted.
