- HUD (Head Up Display) is a method used for viewing GPS navigation at eye level so that you can see the image without lowering your head while driving. Almost all navigation applications have a HUD mode. When you enter the HUD mode, the navigation map image is projected onto the other surface so that it is easier to see.
