My daughter in law loved it!
My daughter in law announced she wanted to start doing “family dinners” every Sunday, so I bought the cookbook for her. It was bigger and far more inclusive than I expected with great pictures and expanded content such as “manners at Grandma’s table”. There are menu plans for every holiday. I look forward to my next invitation.

I love the premise
This cookbook is a treasure. I love the premise...family Sunday dinners, something that needs reviving in our all too often disjointed society. One menu after another so appealing and brilliantly coordinated, with photos that make you drool. And this review is from a cooking and cookbook fanatic who owns a vast collection. Thank you for this beaut!

A real nice cookbook and great gift!
Some of the nicest recipes that I have seen consolidated into one book. Perhaps the perfect cookbook gift!

I loved the whole idea of bringing Sunday dinners back as a special family time. That’s the way I remember them as a child. I am now 79.The recipes are easy, the pictures are great, and the meal plans are fun to follow.

Lots of photos, recipes are okay
This is a beautiful book and it is heavy with 464 pages! I first saw this book in a holiday store and was mesmerized by the beautiful food photos. I couldn't put the book down because I was drooling over the photos. I ended up ordering a copy of this book online and have cooked through a few recipes. I realized quickly that the photos and the actual results were different. The photos in the book are from Shutterstock so it's not the actual results you get from the recipe. The recipes are okay. Some better than others, flavors lacking, but edible. The amount of recipes and photos are worth the price but know that the photos are your end results will differ and the flavors are still good, just not great.

Recipes are untested
My wife and I are working our way through the book one menu at a time. We make at least half of the menu's recipes every week and find at least one error each time. For example, the clam chowder recipe calls for you to add button instead of butter and never tells you when to add the clams. The turkey meatball recipe is an odd combination of treating the balls like a holiday bird, and then serving it with marinara sauce (which may just be a personal oddity to us.) The stuffed red peppers were nothing special and lacked a fair amount of flavor (it's recipe called for you to use a pressure cooker. It claimed the whole process would only take 17 minutes of active work. It was way off when you consider all the prep work it requires, like cooking the bacon.)It's a good jumping off point for a weekly menu creation, but we're making notes, and adjustments all along the way. It also encourages us to branch out a bit, but as just a straight cookbook, it requires a fair amount of editing.
