I needed a decent lock for the side gate which I made and needed it to lock both sides. This lock is bulky and strong, the locking mechanism feels really good quality and fitting it was a breeze.TIP.......... don’t worry if you don’t have a 26mm flat bit, I used a 32mm hole saw and it still leaves plenty of room for the screw holes in the handle plus the handle covers the hole anyway. Also don’t tighten the screws up to tight as it makes the slider slightly harder to slide. As a carpenter it was easy to fit but it’s only one hole to drill so anyone can do it. I decided to also fit the brass cover over the handle as I liked the look of it but you’d have to drill through the metal handle to fit it like that 👍

The lock comes full assembled. It took about 10mins to fit from start to finish.All you need to do is decide where you want the lock to sit , drill a 26mm hole. Then push the barrel of the lock through the hole and secure the body of the lock to the door/gate using the stainless steel screws/blots supplied.Tips...(Drill holes for the screws to avoid splitting the wood).Open the lock/bolt fully in the direction you want it to go to ensure the bolt fully enters the keep and does not bump up against any obstruction. (If it does you will not be able to remove the key (the key can only be removed in the fully opened or fully closed positions)).The lock and hardware appear to be quite substantial and more than adequate for a garden door/gate

Fairly easy installation, although finding a 26mm drill can be a tad difficult. I ended up using a 25mm and a half-round rasp to enlarge the hole for the locking barrel.A little 5W-30 oil, worked behind the locking bar really helps the lock to move smoothly. The handle doesn't feel quite as well make, and the casting is lop-sided, but it's functional.A little packing may be required to pad-out the staple the bar slides into, as I found the gate was rattling in the wind, with about 6mm of slop. Not the end of the world, but something to bear in mind.Now the lock is installed, it's a real help. No more taking off shoes to walk through the house and unbolting the side gate from the back garden.
