So far so good! Nicer than a chest HRM!
I'd been using the Polar H10 chest HRM since August 2022. It worked fine for the most part, other than a few instances of the battery compartment being wonky and giving inconsistent readings until I fiddled with the flexible contact inside.Well, it finally annoyed me for good recently when it started to freeze on a BPM for several seconds before dropping/rising immediately. It would do this every few seconds and my BPM readings were always wildly off. I tried everything I could think of to remedy this and figured, after reading tons of similar stories online, it was best to just move on finally and buy something new.I grabbed the COOSPO HW9 Optical HRM and have been using this with zero issues so far. Since it uses optical sensors (like a smart watch), there's no need to wet it first or apply electrode gel. You simply place it around your forearm or your upper arm (bicep). It has its own app but I prefer using the Polar Beat app so I can see the nice colorized graph in real time. That's what's cool about the COOSPO HW9, it connects to pretty much any HRM app (including PULSOID if you want to show your HR while streaming online). All I had to do was turn it on, go into Polar Beat, remove the Polar H10 from my paired devices list, and the COOSPO HW9 immediately showed up and I was able to pair it right away.In order to test the accuracy of it, I have used it in conjunction with the continuous HRM feature of my Galaxy Watch 4 as well as testing it by comparing my heart rate with my Galaxy S10+'s HR measuring feature and the COOSPO has been spot-on for me.A cool feature this thing has is that it has an indicator light on it that changes color based on which BPM range you're currently in. It's especially helpful once your heart reaches 180bpm because the light turns red and the armband vibrates a couple times. That's been helpful when I play because it reminds me to focus on breathing and calming down during whatever song I'm playing that has my heart rate getting so high. If you use the Heartool app, you can change the HR alert value to something other than 180bpm.Anyway, just wanted to give this thing a shoutout for anyone looking for their first HRM, a replacement, or an alternative to a chest HRM. This one is pretty comfy to wear, far better than the Polar H10 to me (which would bunch up on my sides and back). I also like that it has an internal battery that you charge with a magnetic charger (it's recommended to charge it by connecting it to a laptop/computer or DC 5V power adapter).

Great armband heartrate monitor
Seems to work better than my chest strap monitor from Garmin, which stopped working less than a year old. Hope it lasts. It hooks up easily to my Garmin bike computer every time. And it's rechargeable and is supposed to keep a charge for over 30 hrs.

Easy to use, not sure of results (Last update)
I just got this yesterday. I set it up using heartool app on my iphone (this is the app recommended by COOSPO) and everything worked right away.I'm 75 years old so the rough estimate of max heart rate would be 145. In my youth I was a good runner with a good VO2 uptake so I could usually exceed my theoretical max, so I would even agree my max might go as high as 160.I first looked at my phone at the 10 minute mark of my first workout with the COOSPO today and the app said my pulse was 172! I slowed down (didn't think I was working that hard) and finished the workout. When I looked at the summary it said my max heart rate during the workout was 193! So now I have to say it's not accurate. But I'm not going to give up on it. I'll try it for a week or two and if it improves, I'll update my posting. The app is just a receiving tool, the COOSPO does the pulse monitoring, so I assign this result to the device, not the app.I had the max bpm warning set for 145 but never got a warning vibration that I could feel but that might be due to the heartool app. And for those that are wondering why I didn't see the dark red LED, I was running in 30 degree weather so the COOSPO was under the clothing.I will add that I wore the monitor on the inside of my upper left arm. I'm going to vary between inside upper arm and outside upper arm, and forearm. Maybe one of those positions will make a difference. I'm also going to try to wear it outside my jacket sleeve tomorrow to see if it will still pick up my pulse; that way I can see the LED.I really like the device. Simple, comfortable, easy to set up. I really want this to work.Follow up: I wore the COOSPO on my forearm today and ran at a slightly slower pace and the device worked perfectly. I did one section where I ran hard enough to force my pulse over the alarm limit and the monitor buzzed 3 times and it was very obvious. My max pulse was 147 and I didn't push any harder so I don't know if it would have gone higher, but for this workout, the COOSPO did everything perfectlySecond follow up. I've already been contacted by COOSPO offering a refund at first and then again contacting me after my follow up hoping I would continue to be satisfied. Very happy with their communications. I've added a star :)I'm taking the star back off unfortunately. The device freaked out again this week. I bought a Polar chest monitor to make sure I had good data so I've been wearing both for a few days now. A couple days ago the COOSPO alarm went off a few minutes into the run and it said my pulse was 160. The Polar said my pulse was 119 and I knew from experience and feel that the Polar was correct. I doubt my heart is capable of a pulse of 160. I'll probably ask to return the COOSPO now which is unfortunate. It's very easy to use and I like the alarm.

Bluetooth heart monitor
Excellent product. Charges quickly with included USB cable. Comfortable on upper arm.... hardly notice it during workouts. Accurate readings and easy to pair with my NordicTrack stationary bike. Also the CoosproRide app works well and heart rate alarms can be set on smart phone. Reasonable price, works well. Recommended.

Great alternative to chest straps
So, I've used it twice...once on the trail and once at the gym. So far...nice! It has the magnetic charger which is convenient and lites up when fully charged. The unit has a power button...a very positive feedback experience, compared to passive power ups like chest straps. I wore it on my upper forearm and it was able to track HR without issue. I paired it with polar beats and it tracked HR from start to end. Battery status shows in the app. At the gym,it had no problems even with arm movement. I Nordic walk a hiking trail and again, no comms issues. Once the device was in beats, it picked it right up. It comes with a second strap, so I can swap them out to clean them. It's small and I forget it's there after I'm into the workout. I especially dont miss having to set the strap like a chest strap. If it holds up, I'll keep coming back. Regardless, I'm sold on forearm strap formats over chest straps!
