Exceeded my expectations
I ordered 2 of these, and just installed the first. I am impressed by the quality and finish of the entire unit. It is all metal. No plastic anywhere to be seen. Ive paid twice as much for other ceiling fans that werent this nice. A couple things Ive noticed:- while the motor is silent, it makes a noticable amount of noise off the blades. This is due to how fast this unit spins.- The lowest speed on the unit is like high on many other fans. High on this fan is VERY fast.- The included wall switch is bigger than one would hope. But it comes all ready to go over the outlet box. I really dont mind it. But it would be problematic over a switch that was next to other switches.- the fan essentially comes pre assembled, except for adding the three blades. It uses a very innovative J hook to hang the fan from. This was by far the easiest fan Ive ever installed.- no balancing weights were included, but was also no needed. This fan is perfectly balanced right out of the box.- the blades themselves are metallic. The bemfit I see to that is that rhe blades wont sag over time as wooden blades often do. The down side is that combined with the speed, the blades would most assuredly do some major damage to any body part it strikes. Think long and hard if this fan is less than the recommended 10 feet high.

It may not be to everyone's taste obviously, but ...
It may not be to everyone's taste obviously, but I wanted a simple clean slightly industrial looking fan, and it fits the bill perfectly. it moves lots of air and is very quiet, the motor is actually silent, just the sound of air on blades on the higher settings. I remember someone else commenting on the control box, what the hell! It IS a big as a Volkswagen! A Passat!!! Or more suitably a Bus.I wouldn't want it mounted on a kitchen wall, so in my case I have an on/off standard switch in the kitchen and actually remote mounted the control box in the basement stairwell on the opposite side of the wall. This way I can simply flip a switch to turn the fan on, and if I want to change the speed it's a simple matter of opening the basement door to do so....and it's cleaner looking. The fan is not reversible AND it's made for flat ceiling mounting only. It won't work as shipped on a vaulted ceiling...Lowes however has an adapter kit for vaulted ceiling mounting that works very well, ask me how I know! LOL!

They are not the best quality, but worked fine for my garage
Decent fans for the ORIGINAL price I paid. Definitely not worth the current, DOUBLE THE PRICE, they are now. They are not the best quality, but worked fine for my garage. I have 12-16 foot high ceilings, they move air more in a straight down direction than out to the sides. They wobble a bit , since they are not well balanced and the ceiling plates will not sit flush against the ceiling. They are also noisy, so they would not do well inside a home. I have 2 fans in a line and needed to get a separate 5 amp control to operate the in-line fans, since the ridiculously and ugly ( is this 1950?) large controls they sent do not operate more than one fan, so add another $35-40.Pros: Moves air and looks industrial. Worth the $45 I originally paidCons: Low quality fit/finish, poor controllers, noisy and WAY OVERPRICED at double I paid 6 months ago. Ridiculous that they are $110 now. Not worth it.Fans stopped working without warning. Like others said , get what you pay for.

It is good at what it's meant for. Love it! Hope you like my comments.
Hey, I don't know what to say about a fan review. I like it. It's very, very industrial. I'll buy it again. I bought it myself. If you like a cool warehouse look, and a lot of wind, it will work for you! My fiance can't take stuffy air nor heat. Toupees and weaves beware!! So, not a nursery item. But it does as instructed. And doesn't need a lot of balancing. But order the short pole attachment if you have less than 10 foot ceilings. You will get hurt hitting those blades!

Beautiful fan. Sleek and simple
Beautiful fan. Sleek and simple....however my major disappointment is that it makes a VERY loud "whoop whoop whoop" sound even on the slowest/lowest setting. You would think that maybe I got a "bad" fan...because of the very loud sound that it makes...but I bought two fans of the exact make and model and both make the same noise. One fan is inside a workshop area 10' x 30'. The other fan is outside on porch area in a 10' x 20' area. I had a professional electrician mount and connect them...so we can't blame an amateur installation. Any way...pretty fan...but loud...and I would NOT repurchase.

Loft look ceiling fan
Love the look of this fan. Used in a residential setting; very fortunate to have very high ceilings. Believe this fan could remove some fingers if someone was silly enough to put them in front of moving blades. The fan comes with an electrical control switch, about the size of a Volkswagen. Definitley get something else. The fan is fairly inefficent as far as moving a lot of air; not too important to me. Lacks lighting; also not important to me. Easy to assemble and install. The fit of the ceiling cover cone is a bit flimsy.

Definitely a winner for the price.
This fan is a definite value for the price. It does wobble occasionally on lower speed, but overall a great deal for the price.

Good fan - poor controller.
Very nice fan for the price. Works and looks good in the garage. The included speed controller is huge and hugely dissapointing, in that it offers speeds from fast to supersonic.I had to buy a KB Electronics 8811006 controller to obtain an actual low speed.
