Burnwater Fusion Paddle Grip Tape

I installed these to resolve the gripping problems I have with a wet paddle. These have worked well so far. You need one roll per each paddle.

So it was surprisingly difficult to find some tape wrap for my kayak paddles. There are a lot of those precut foam slide ons but I don't like those as they are way too small and do not stay in place. So I tried this and it was easy to wrap both sides of my paddles in the key areas where I hold the paddle. Easy to wrap and it feels good on the hands. I would recommend 2 rolls if you want to get a good cover on your paddles.

Not as grippy as I hoped, in fact result is only about 15% greater grip than paddle shaft itself. If properly wrapped, the edges can act as resistive ridges as the hand slips down the shaft. Just make sure to think it through. Can’t unwrap and try again, too late, the material will have bonded to its!

I bought this after reading many reviews. Based on comments of the length, I bought 2 rolls, one for each end of the paddle.Installation was easy and straightforward. There is a good You Tube video. In terms of length of each roll, I was impressed. using 1/2 width overlap, I was able to cover a 12+ inch section Twice!! Which is what I wanted as I have big hands and wanted a thicker grip.Have used it on 4 salt water outings now. Very pleased. It remains tacky, but does not attract sand or other abrasives. I don’t use gloves anymore and have not had blisters.Would recommend this product. The color choices were also good.

The tape is excellent. It has held up for the most part for 2 months now. It does not add too much to the diameter of the shaft and helps with locating my hands quickly.Only complaint is that I would like to see a little more so I did not have to skimp on the amount per side. 1 tear so far but it has not opened up any more than when it first happened.

If you are using it for a kayak paddle, you’ll need two rolls - the rolls need to be larger/longer. It is not durable - I used it for the very first time on my kayak paddle on a lake (roll and stroke practice). A very tiny hole developed on the grip - perhaps when I moved the paddle in or out of my car (no rough handling). On the river a few days later, the hole increased steadily in size - see photo. I then pulled it off - paddled better without a grip with a hole in it. Also, on both sides, a wrinkle developed as I paddled on the river - maybe can be seen in the photo - also not helpful if one wishes to enhance one’s paddle grip.

This product is great, however you better order 2 rolls if you expect to have enough for both sides.

This stuff is great. Grips without wearing on your hands.

Below expectation for such price tag. The tape works perfectly sticking to each other when overlaps, but not to the paddle. Once water slip in between the tape and paddle, it losses its grip.Lasted only about 2 months..
