Closed ecosystem, better off with open hardware like pixhawk
Does it work? Yes, and it can be used as your fc no problem, however, it has a very closed ecosystem of supported parts, modules, and software. On the hardware side, the special connectors requires you to solder your own connections or use radiolink hardware (like the gps). Additional, in cases of crashes, these connectors will break wires as hard to fix spots instead of simply unplugging like standard pixhawk ones. Not good for planesOn the software side, although the software is open source now, it is still frowned upon by the ardupilot community and they won't help you with it. It is also not the latest version, it would be much better to be able to just load normal ardupilot on itI got this as my first FC, and didn't like it at all. I went with a pixhawk later for almost the same price and it was just so much better and has much more support. If you have a niche use case maybe this is right for you, but overall just get a pixhawk or some other open hardware for the same price

Caution if you plan to use ArduPilot
If your plan is to using ArduPilot as your autopilot system, the Radio Link Crossflight is not supported. According to ArduPilot "The RadioLink CrossFlight is not supported by ArduPilot. As far as the ArduPilot Development Team is aware, RadioLink are in violation of ArduPilot’s GPLv3 license in that they refuse to release the source code for their modifications to ArduPilot. The Development Team recommend you do not purchase this product, and instead select from one of our many other supported boards."RadioLink does have their own version of ArduPilot-RL but it lags behind in current software not to mention the multitude of errors just trying to build the environment; which errors out. They do have a windows install file, .msi, but I would use extreme caution installing the program considering they forked their version from ArduPilot and the GPLv3 violation.
