Great for the price
These are actually really great for the price. While weights will be different, as I don’t think that is part of the quality control, they throw really well and have held up nicely. They look really great as well. For the money these are a great value and can get you into hatchet throwing on the cheap!

zero stars
When these arrived I opened the box and examined them, they felt nice, and looked well made.Boy was I wrong.I rarely ever review items I purchase on Amazon, but this is one I could not help but write.I purchased two of these, and a friend and I took them over to our axe throwing targets.Axe number one had the epoxy affixing the axe head crack and fall out on the first impact.I could have possibly accepted that, and just driven a new wedge into the wood, but then on the THIRD THROW, axe number two had the handle split right in half. These are meant to be THROWING AXES, I would expect them to be robust enough to handle the stress of at least 3 throws!!I expected more.

Get what you pay for
I got this for my daughter so she could have an axe that suited her more for league. She loves the balance and how it throws. However, straight out of the box there was a crack in the lower handle and a divot in the upper handle near the head. We wrapped tape around the crack and it has been ok. The resin cap cracked on our second session throwing. Since then the head as had a bit of a wobble to it. We'll need to find a way to secure the head better before using it any more. Over all the woodpecker is a cheaper option than the WATL axes and it throws just as nice, though it is not as well made.

Loose dangerous heads
Loose and dangerous heads especially for throwing … these need attention hanging the heads correctly before it hurts someone … once they are fixed correctly great axes

Weight!
I ordered this on a whim after going axe throwing. I did some minor modification to the beard to shave some weight (no pun intended). The handle is very nice aesthetically. I sanded that down and re-stained it; nothing wrong with the handle at all, just worked a little on it with sandpaper. For the sake of weight, in the throwing arena, the head is heavy closer to two pounds or more. The handle is long enough to allow trimming as needed. It’s a great thrower for the price but a little heavy. If you’re starting out, this will help with confidence and technique until you want the 1.5lb or so heads. Great price and great deal!

Handle quality
This axe does not stand up to being thrown well. I had for maybe a week maybe two and I participate that are 20 throws per week, excluding warm up throws, with in the first two weeks the handle started to come loose, after that it started sliding out that I had to consistently adjust the handle before the throw. The balance itself is good on the axe just concerned about the quality of the handle and how it is secured.

Sturdy
As advertised sharp easy to throw. We had a barbecue yesterday and of course everybody wanted to throw the axe at the target I built and as much as this thing hit all the wrong places she’s still in great shape. Of course I have to sharpen it now after all the abuse

Head became loose after 10 throws!
Bought the 2 pack and we have an axe throwing restaurant, as owners we tested the axes and we threw them maybe 10 times at our soaked, easy to stick targets, and after about 10 throws the heads were coming completely off! Definitely not worth the money! They need to figure out how to make these heads stay on better. The axe itself was very pretty and did stick but could be very dangerous after a few throws!
