An excellent premium Hay! Absolutely recommend it if you love your furry friends and can afford it.
This hay is always consistently excellent quality! We have two house rabbits with malocclusion(One more severe then the other), so we took a chance on this hoping that more chewing on tastier hay would mean more teeth grinding. It has absolutely worked for us the more severe case only needs vet attention twice a year now at most and the other rabbit has been fine for two years now. It is obviously much more expensive than regular shop bought hay but it is also clearly fresher and higher quality. It has also definitely saved us money in vet trips not to mention taken the stress away from our little rabbits.

never would have thought
I never would have thought that I would ever be writing a review on hay. We recently welcomed 2 guinea pigs into our family and have been trying out different hays. Our piggies BY FAR love this one the best. They go through it fast but the quality is just that good. I could save some pennies with other brands but the piggies don't lie, this is the best.

Very good but expensive
My current hay supplier is busy over December so have been giving this one a go as an emergency back up. Was pleasantly surprised to find that it is green and in long strands, unlike most hay you can buy. It's also not too hard but not too soft. The only downside is it's very expensive - my usual haybox is just less than £4 per kg while this one is over £8 per kg. Otherwise would have considered buying this regularly.

Do not order if you have allergies
My bunnies seem to like this and it does create less mess as it is so coarse. I imagine it’s good for their teeth too but I had the worst allergic reaction to it despite me only having mild hayfever. Hives all up my arms, tight chest and wheezing. Please don’t order if you have a hay allergy. I have never reacted to hay like that before.

2nd cut preferred
rabbit prefers this 2nd cut much more than the 1st cut.

This is not suitable for guinea pigs.
I have bought alot of hay over the years, and this is the worst. It is so hard and sharp, the first time I put my hand in to grab a handful it cut my finger. I couldn't even put it in my piggies hay eater as the strands sticking out could scratch their eyes as it doesn't break easily. It definitely couldn't go in a wee pile in the cage as they'd cut their wee paws. I have used alot of 2nd cut hay that has been nice and soft so didn't expect this. I have used as bedding hay before but bsolutely no way with this stuff, it would cause injuries. As for dust extracted. I opened the bag and tipped it into a black bin bag to pull it all apart to see if the middle was softer and usable, but the dust that came up was enough to choke me, let alone a wee piggy. Definitely would not recommend this for rabbits, guinea pigs or any small animal.
