"USE THE BED, NOT THE SINK YOU DIRTY SOD"
Oh the 80's were a fantastic era filled with great music and films but some dodgy hair styles. Anyone who thinks the 80's were terrible need to bloody well think again. Yes things were kind of stuck in the 80's but that's what so great about it all. It had a time and place and still stands out. We had fantastic music, the two best albums ever with Michael Jacksons Thriller and Bad. Just think of all the memorable films like Rambo, Commando, Lethal Weapon, Back To The future, Wall Street, Robocop and Die Hard. Need I go on because I could list endless great films. Not only that we two of the hottest woman evet, Amy from The A Team and Jodie from The Fall Guy. Ill have a good hard think about those two later! To be honest there is no such thing as a bad era, because all of them have some truly great stuff to offer. The worst I would suggest is the 2000's because that is when CGI went mad and was used instead of good story telling. Look, the best to some up the decades is this. The 70's had great stringy and matted pubic hair. The 80's pube's were neater with the occasional landing strip. The 90's , well towards the end anyway, saw a decline in pubic hair altogether and the 00's was the Hollywood look. But the 80's were my favourite...That brings me into one of the most ground breaking films ever made which is still relevant today. Perhaps even more so these days because it still shocks and is as effective today as it was in 1987. Fatal Attraction is one hell of a film that has stuck in the minds of the audience ever since it was first released. Every time I watch it I still come away amazed with how effective it remains. Sure it had massive shoulder pads and dodgy permed hair but man what a film to behold. Michael Douglas is on tip top form as a happpily married man who had a weekend fling while the wife is out of town. The thing is you never hate his charecter despite not agreeing with what he is doing. And when he becomes the victim from his shag piece, Glenn Close, you even start to feel for the guy. It's very clever how this is done because not every actor could pull it off as Douglas can. Glenn Close had a lot to do with this of course because she plays her part as the bunny boiling bitch so well it makes Sharon Stone in Basic Instict look sane. What I love about Fatal Attraction is how raw the film is with quite vicious sex scenes between Douglas and Close. There is no love there, just a dirty weekend romp. The sex scenes are quite grown up but not distasteful or particularly graphic. Its all nessasary to the story which makes a change from gratuitous nudity we get these days. Not like Shame which I tried to watch the other day. Now that's distaseful with constant knob shots, a pointless shot of a bloke having a pee and shaking his tackle and talking to his sister while she is nude. It's all arty nonsense and I hated it.I watched Fatal Attraction again with my wife the other night and she was gripping to a cusion on the sofa and jumping at the end scenes with the boiling rabbit and when Close finally tries to confront the family. It's brilliant, disturbing and still scary to this day. Just remember to wash the pots before you make love in the kitchen sink because you could cut your bare bottom. Now that would be embarrassing.

Stands the test of time.
When I saw this on Prime, I started to tell my teenage daughter about when I went to watch it in the cinema on it's release and how everyone screamed at the ending! On Prime videos, info on the film and actors pops up and trivia about the film and gaffs. Well I never knew about the original ending and how early viewers didn't like it so they had to go back and film the ending that made me scream all those years ago! I must admit, I think they made the right decision but watching this again all these years later, I can see why so much was made of Douglas's character touching the kitchen knife as that was more in keeping with their original ending as was the mention of the opera story and the heroine killing herself! This film stood the test of time for me and I enjoyed watching it again. However, I did have some problems with the sound watching on my Kindle Fire it kept dipping.
