A perfect game in a small box. Solo gaming is perfect.
A brilliant little box of a game.Hard as nails to beat but what fun !I wish those who make RPGs to take note that it is not the huge board, hundreds of pieces, cards, dice etc that really makes an enjoyable game, it can be done with a small scale in a small box !The first couple of tries might be a bit confusing, afterwards you will keep coming back and even try to make your hero stronger ( in Campaign mode) because this little beauty has a long life span. The additional attraction: it is great, if not greater , it can be a soloist haven.Cannot wait for the expansion ...not that it will be needed for quite a while.Ten out of ten.

Great 1 or 2 player cooperative dungeon adventure
An entertaining but quite difficult 1 or 2 player dungeon adventure (or "adventures" as it's never the same). If you've never played before then watch some of the "play-through" review videos online before deciding if it's your "cup of tea" and, if it is, how to set up and play: I found the rules supplied OK but it's much easier to learn by watching someone else. It is very much a dice/luck game but does involve experience and skill to make the most of poor throws.

Great solo experience.
Great game, if a little complicated to get to grips with initially (I recommend watching some how-to-play vids on Youtube). However once you've got your head around the rules it's a blast. It can be brutal at first, and you'll probably die on your second turn (no joke) until you figure out your priorities, but once you do the balance is pretty spot on. Be warned, however: games can last some time, and I'll often play in 15-20 min bursts then pick up where I left off at a later time.I've only played solo and as a solitaire game it is top notch. The mechanics boil down to a push-your-luck, dice (resource) management system and you'll definitely need your Maths head on in the late game. Puzzle-lovers should get a real kick out of it.The build quality is good, with some nice artwork and game pieces that all fit snugly into the box. While not quite pocket-size, it's still very portable.Overall a very enjoyable game with a fairly steep learning curve, though the pay-off is well worth it. Solid, challenging and elegant gameplay.

Superb solo game that keeps you coming back
One deck dungeon is easily one of the best solo games I have played. The premise is simple; pick your heroine and delve into the dungeon and hope you get far enough with your skills, magic and strength to meet - then defeat - the dungeon boss. The all female cast comprises of a Paladin, Archer, Warrior, Mage & Rogue. All come with their unique attributes and skills. Throughout your delve, you can level-up your character so that they can equip extra items, learn new skills or gain extra potions. Once an encounter (in the form of peril e.g. a trap; or combat) is resolved, I really enjoy the choice you have between using the loot to either upgrade your character or gain that vital experience. There are 5 unique dungeons to explore, ranging from easy to hard in diffculty (not that I would class any as particularly easy). You do so by setting up your encounter pile and from using the time mechanic, set up various doors that you enter from where you can encounter or flee. Once you get to the bottom of the deck, you move onto the next floor.Like all dice rolling games, there are huge swings of luck - but this can be mitigated to an extent with a well equipped and experienced character. The campagin mode rewards multiple playthroughs and allows your character to start each dungeon with experience and new abilities. The components are in the whole well made. Wooden life tokens in the shape of hearts are cool but its a shame the potions are represented by simple white cubes. I expect the cards to last, but if going to heavily play, best to sleeve them. The rule book is quite vague in places, so expect the first couple of playthroughs to be a learning curve. Each game takes around 30mins so it isnt so bad.I doubt I would pay any more than £20 for this, as in effect all it is a packet of cards, but the gameplay is superbly designed that makes you want to go again. If looking for a well done solo experience and enjoy the theme, then this is the game for you.

Great little 2 player cooperative game
I haven't yet tried this solo but it works well as a 2-player. A big game in a small box. You progress through the dungeon by rolling dice , gaining skills, magic, potions and items battling boss monsters at the end of each level. Nice graphics, some rules were a little unclear (we had to Google using the power dice). Looking forward to campaign mode. It's a little cracker!

A lot going on in the box.
A bit fiddly, though you do get a lot of stuff for such a small package. My only qualm is that the game features just female avatars whereas I was expecting a mix, or perhaps the inclusion of other non-human races. Still the game is sufficiently complex to keep you interested. It also offers an interesting way to experience some aspects of D&D gaming in a quick, guided format.

Tiny box, Big game
A very enjoyable but very tough dungeon crawler all played out through a deck of cards and special coloured dice which you use to win encounters and gain skills, items and XP which helps you to level up your character. Lots of variety in the encounters and in the characters you can play as. You can play solo or with a friend but the game is not easy at all. Which is what makes me keep coming back. Really nice game.
