Tick collar for dogs

It's the only thing that gets ticks off my dog here in Miami, FL
What more can I say? It's the only thing that works. I've tried EVERYTHING --- anything you see on here with decent reviews, I have purchased it and used it on my dog with pretty much zero effect.I don't know how I didn't find this sooner - possibly because it didn't combat fleas - though, luckily, we haven't had a flea problem this year - the ticks though? ridiculous. Like scary ridiculous.Within a few days, I could notice there were barely any ticks on her and what I was finding was nearly dead. After a week, not a single tick on her and I hear her snoring now instead of chewing at herself. If you want something that works for your dog - this is amazing. It has a pleasant scent as others mentioned and I haven't noticed any irritation on my dog's skin at all.

Does the job
We have a Border Collie, two fat Labs, and a part time Great Pyrenees (a neighbor's dog who comes more than a mile to eat, sleep and love us) and we live in the country so ticks are quite a problem here. Preventic collars are the only thing we have found that keep the ticks off the dogs and swiftly kill any that do manage to attach. None of the dogs have ever had a skin reaction to the collars and we have been using them for at least 4 years now. There is no odor so the dogs don't mind them and they do last the entire 3 months as stated. They're expensive but quite worth the cost. We put them on the dogs when we find the first attached tick in the spring and then only once more when the 3 months are gone. The collars fit up to a 25 inch neck and it barely goes around the Great Pyrenees so if you a larger dog you might want to contact the company to see if they go any larger. We like to leave space for a couple of fingers to go under the collar. Ticks are a menace and a health problem so to keep your doggy buddy healthy, keep them tick free.

Another great preventive measure against ticks!
So, I live in the East Coase of the USA and ticks are pandemic out here. Apparently this tick collar causes paralysis in a ticks mouth, so they can't bite the dog. After enough time, the tick will die. What I have noticed is that when my pup is snoozing on me, the occasional tick will transfer from her to me (she plays outside, I work in a boring office) and will crawl all over me. But, with the collar, I have yet to see one attach to me, which makes me think the paralysis thing worked. Also, I have yet to see a tick attached to her... I have also seen dead ticks on her around the tick collar (usually smaller). Anyway, it seems like a pretty good preventative measure in the war against ticks. I also treat the yard with Permethrin and she gets Revolution monthly. None of these have been a magic bullet against ticks, but I feel like it has killed them off within 24 hrs and kept us relatively save from Lyme disease.

A BETTER COLLAR CANNOT BE BOUGHT.
Simply the best. I've been a dog fancier for more than 30 years and will use nothing else for tick prevention, EVER! I have not seen a tick on any of my dogs, no matter what kind of (tick) environment they've been in, and I'm much more comfortable using the product externally and internally. It has ZERO side effects, safe even for sight hounds and Collies. It's 1000% effective, and highly affordable for me. My dogs are my top priority and I'd spend what ever Virbac charges knowing I rest assured I won't deal with tick borne diseases. HOWEVER, do not buy from sellers who are not in the USA, I did once and the product had such a horrible stench, I had to remove it from my dogs neck and throw it out.

They Work! Well Worth the Money
I live in a cabin in the woods on a coastal South Carolina island and have four dogs. The ticks here are TERRIBLE, and I've had a very challenging time managing them. Ugh. None of the topical or pill flea/tick/heart worm medications seemed to do much about the ticks, and I was really getting tired of sitting on the sofa petting a dog and discovering a yucky engorged tick embedded in his skin. Plus, I was concerned about the health risks the ticks presented to not just the dogs, but to me as well.I first got these collars at my vet's office...and now keep them on all my dogs year round. They really do work! Once in a while I'll find a tick, but it's usually not embedded and the situation is one thousand percent better than it used to be. The collars last two or three months, and you can usually tell when it's time to replace them because you'll start seeing ticks on your dog again. One note: These are ONLY for ticks, and you will need other preparations for fleas and heart worm prevention.I'm very thankful this product is available.

They work great and were recommended by our vet
I have been using these for several years now on our 4 dogs. A large male Dobie, a large female Am Staff Terrier, and a young Am Pitbull Terrier and a Belgian Malanois. They work great and were recommended by our vet. They're good to go for about 6 months from May-October is when I use them in the Sacramento, CA area. It seemed before we started using them, every time the dogs went out, they came back in with a tick. Fortunately, we had just moved in and I relandscaped the yard to be less friendly to ticks, fleas, and rodents by clearing away the plantings from along the wrought iron back fence which borders a nature area. I trimmed up all the large bushes so the leaves start at about 3' and put down pea gravel in the flower beds instead of bark. The dogs love it especially when it's wet or cold. Just an FYI on how to keep your dogs tick free.

I've lived in rural Vermont and on Martha's Vineyard where tick populations are very high. I've never found a tick on my dog when he is wearing these. Only downfall is they are not water proof, which can be tough with a pup who likes to swim because it ruins the collar if I don't remember to take it off first. That being said, the two pack, at this price, and with prime shipping, makes it much less of an issue. I stock up on these and still find they are cheaper than buying the waterproof ones which I find don't work as well.
