No, they do not. I have long thick hair and they did not work at all.

I had this same concern and emailed their customer support via their website as I didn't want my wife to get a knockoff product. Turns out, PONY-O just launched on Amazon this past week and this is indeed the REAL product! They told me they're launching with limited items to start but will be growing the Amazon site over time. My wife received the product and it's definitely the REAL deal with the copper core.

Q: Is this the real pony-o?

Yes it is! My wife loves this product and when I found it on Amazon and ordered it for her, I was at first skeptical. But once we received it, we noticed it was the exact same packaging as when you order off of their website and the product quality was definitely not the fake stuff. This is the real deal with the copper core and high quality material.

Q: I have thick long and very heavy hair. Regular bands do not hold high pony tail and if they do, it hurts my scalp. would pony-o work for me?

No, it won’t. Ay least it didn’t work for me. Not for long at least. Since it’s heavy the weight starts pulling it down slowly, so it doesn’t stay in place. For people with abundant hair it’s really hard to put it on. The only part that’s true it’s the part that says it won’t pull or damage your hair.
