Sharpest my knives have ever been
Was a little skeptical at first, set up works great though! I used the diamond stones and my chef knives have never been sharper! The design takes a minute to get used to but once you get the movements down it sharpens quickly and efficiently! Great sharpener for a great price just make sure to get the diamond stones.

Works good
Is good.. the stone did break after a few uses

Sharpens to a razors edge!
This system definitely has a bit of a learning curve if all you're familiar with is flat stones. Once I got the hang of it, I sharpened every knife I own to a razors edge. Showed some guys at work and suddenly spent 2 days sharpening everyone's knives. Great buy at a great price!

Has some kinks
The knife not held correctly, uses plastic parts in key locations, angle changed when the knife was flipped over. The whole thing needs rebuilt without plastic and made more sturdily

So fragile as to be nonfunctional
The collar which holds the draw rod in is way too short so it doesn't have enough depth to establish good purchase. It needs to be twice or 3 times longer. It's made of aluminum and you don't even have to use a screwdriver to strip the setscrew. The rod slips out, you tighten the setscrew more and you find it is stripped. I didn't get through the first knife before it failed. There are other brands which look a bit different but they are made with steel and have adequate construction. This one might be good if the design were changed to have a deeper collar and more than one set screw.

Works well
I had been looking at sharpeners like this to add a little more precision to my sharpening. Never had a problem getting a good edge, just started thinking a more consistent edge angle offered by something like this would possibly improve things. Considering the price range of assisted sharpeners like this, I think this model is a pretty good deal. I like the diamond plates as the stay flatter and are more durable than regular stones. I'm not even sure why the kit came with regular stones. They are very fragile, one of mine was broken on arrival, despite being well packaged. Plus, the stones do not come with a backing like the diamond plates do, and that backing aids in the retention of the plates when mounted for sharpening. Due to the fragile nature of the stones, I think being mounted to a backing would make them more durable and less likely to break during shipping or during use.I think the sharpening rod could have a better designed mounting system for the plates and stones - it works ok, but needs to be carefully adjusted to be tight enough to prevent the plates from falling out, but not so tight as to cause the plates to bow. It works ok once you figure it out, but seems like they could come up with a better design.Despite these minor complaints, I think the whole system works pretty well. I had been looking at systems costing twice as much, but this does the same thing. It's pretty easy to set up, I like the adjustability of the blade clamp, it holds the set angle well, is easy to adjust for different blades and with a drop of lubricant on the rod holding the steel it works pretty smoothly. There are no pre-marked angles, but those are kind of useless as such markings would not be accurate for the many blade sizes you may be sharpening. So, you must have a way to check and set your angle, but there are phone apps for that. As for angles, it will go down to 17 degrees with no problem as I tried that on a couple of my kitchen knives, and then changed it to 20 degrees for a couple of my EDC knives.I expect to get a lot of use out of this, and I am pretty happy with the purchase. In my opinion, the kit would be better if they left out the stones, and replaced them with one finer grit diamond plate and a leather strop. But all things considered, I am happy with the purchase and expect to get plenty of use out of it.

Like the idea and fact you don’t need to hold the knife! However hones to sharpen are junk!
My husband liked the ideas of not having to hold the knife as the pervious system we had. However the hones to sharpen are junk. We never had to replace hones on our last system however was lost in our move.Missed the return window because we didn’t get to try them out right away.My husband didn’t even get 1 knife sharpened.Disappointing to say the least with other reviews that were written.
