Product Description English progressive rock, from former members of the The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Atomic Rooster were an English progressive rock band, composed of former members of the The Crazy World of Arthur Brown who went on to have two hit singles in the UK charts in the early 70 s. Both of which are featured on this release, Tomorrow Night and & The Devil's Answer. 'Home to Roost' was released in 1977, as a double LP on the Mooncrest label, a compilation album by British rock band Atomic Rooster. It is made up of material from their first three studio albums. Available for the first time fully re-mastered from master tapes to CD Review Talking elephant did a remarkable job remastering this compilation from 1977. never have atomic roosters music from their first three releases sounded so good. i'm not an audiophile by any means, but i've listened to rooster's music enough over the decades to be quite impressed at what is offered here. Home to Roost has great artwork, and talking elephant has updated the liner notes in it. i guess my only real complaint is, was it necessary to make a 2 disc compilation from the first three cds? atomic rooster does have a variety of best of's out in the market of varying quality. if you're not familiar with atomic rooster and want a place to start, i'd highly recommend this release or for those that don't want to own the first three cds, this remastered version is quite good. --Joseph L. About the Artist Atomic Rooster were an English progressive rock band, composed of former members of the The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Throughout their history, keyboardist Vincent Crane was the only constant member, and wrote the majority of their material. Their history is defined by two periods, in the early 1970s and the early 1980s. Their genre in music is difficult to define, since they went through radical changes in very short times during the life of the band. However, their best-known era represented a more hard rock/progressive rock sound, exemplified by their only hit singles, "Tomorrow Night" (UK #11) and "The Devil's Answer" (UK #4), both in 1971.[1] See more
