Unreliable
Bought one from GC brought it home played it for 15 minutes and poof smoke comes out the top vent and amp is fried. Returned it and got another one worked for a day this time the poof same thing. Took it back got a Marshall DSLCR20 and it beats this amp in every possible way. Better tones, reliable and very good at reasonable levels. The Marshall is the same price and cranked up is way louder and gives that classic Marshall tone. Maybe some have better luck or maybe I got two lemons. Bottom line is the Marshall is a better amp in every way especially tone and versatility.

Very versatile amp
Giving this 5 stars for what it is and what it’s designed for. Also the tones and versatility are top notch. Volume is loud enough for jamming in a bedroom or practice room but may not be louder than a heavy handed drummer. I don’t think it’s suitable for a band setting. You’d be better off with the 40 watter. I have both. Excellent amp and great versatility. Cleans are amazing. Crunch tones are nice and thick. High gain is simply top notch.

Great Sound at Any Price, Amazing at This Price
I may be a beginner player, but I have been a huge EVH fan for decades. I am well aware of all the polarizing commentary on the Iconic series on YouTube. If you are a beginner, have no doubts. This amp is the real deal. IN SHORT: extremely versatile, glorious VH tones on GreenOverdrive (Gain 7-10), great metal on Red Burn, lower gain rock is great on lower gain settings of the GreenOverdrive and the GreenClean is totally fine if you ever need some cleans:). The EQ is VERY effective, changing something from like 5 to say 4 or 6 makes a difference. CONS: no real cons at 650$, but 1/ the silly-looking nipple channel switch does not let you change voices. This is a big pain if you want to play something where you need not-very-gainy rhythm for some sections and cleans for others. Not a VH repertoire problem where you roll off the volume knob instead or a metal problem where you may go Red/Green, but it is limiting when playing lower gain stuff that features true cleans here and there. 2/ needs a noise gate to reduce preamp hiss and 3/ the reverb is hilariously inadequate considering the quality of the other features. DETAIL:I have had this amp for about 200 hours of home use and I LOVE it. Having started first in June 2022, I went through an Orange Crush, an extremely disappointing Blackstar HT-5 tube amp, an entry level modeller, and two pocket modellers before finally finding what suits me with the 5150 Iconic 15w with headphone option (and the Micro Fender for other practice use). Here is what you need to know that may not be too obvious from the manual/reviews: The GREEN OVERDRIVE=BLUE CHANNEL. This is the bread and butter for playing Van Halen. I find the sound great in absolute terms and totally amazing at this price point. It blows away anything else under 1,000$ that I have heard. The RED BURN channel is similarly a completely distinct voicing from the REGULAR RED one, so do not think that the voices are just some sort of minor difference or a marketing gimmick as on other amps in the price range. The voicings are real. I am personally not a big fan of the regular red channel which I find muffled. I use the Burn for Metallica and I really like it though I would rather EQ the lows to reduce muddiness especially at higher Red Burn gain.Oh, right, there is also a Green=Clean voicing. I only use this for the clean parts of Fear of the Dark and it works great with delay and reverb. I don't really care otherwise and digital modellers get awesome cleans anyway. My 5150 Iconic lives on the GreenOverdrive=Blue channel and takes vacations on RedBurn. OTHER comments: --The headphone jack is really useful though it is a minor gripe of mine that it is 1/8 instead of 1/4. --For all the sound excellence otherwise, the reverb is some sort of a bad joke. --There is NO noise gate on the green channel and the noise reduction on the Red channel only goes that far. --the 10" speaker is killing it and it makes the 12" speakers of other amps in the price range look silly.Hands down some of the best money I have ever spent on hobby/fun projects. Now, this is a real high-gain amp. In a small space, you cannot leave the strings unattended if you play Van Halen or anything with as much or higher gain. No way. So it works great for teaching string control/muting.The part that is not as useful at learning anything is the preamp hiss. I use an MXR Smart Gate at low setting to nearly eliminate that. It works well though it adds to the cost. If you use the gate at higher levels to help reduce feedback, it starts to interfere with the notes so it does not at all save you from learning to control the strings. But it makes preamp hiss a non-issue.
