DO NOT BUY!!! Look closely at pic of interior!!!
1st: I reached out to the seller telling them I would hold this, waiting for a response & giving them a chance to suggest a fix that I would do myself at my additional cost 5 days ago. Left w/no reply, which brought my rating down another star, I scheduled a return and this is why...This bag is made for and advertised to those looking to purchase Fingerlings. If you're reading this you probably know all about what they are but for those who haven't purchased one yet like I hadn't: they are adorable, colorful, TINY interactive monkeys that hang from a child's fingers as they play and respond to certain sounds and movements. They are very delicate even though they seem to be made of sturdy, good quality "soft plastic" and instantly brought me back to my childhood, wishing for my very own Magowi (adorable critter before transfroming into a Gremlins) with the little sounds they make. Most reviews I read stated they can be broken easily if dropped wrong or handled too roughly so when I decided to get one for my 3 yr old (Special Needs: learning to SLOW DOWN & use gentle hands not knowing his own strentgh) I knew he would need a safe place to "live" (even considered getting one of the hamster cages w/the tubes and such). I wanted ability to bring our new "pet" to therapy sessions, waiting rooms for doc appts, road trips to see specialists- you get the idea - & always have a way to visually remind him about being gentle and thinking before he acts. When I saw this bag I was ecstatic! It was EVERYTHING I wanted and didn't know existed!!! And the PRICE!!! PERFECT!!!!Then...1.) It didn't come till AFTER Christmas: the ONLY toy my little boy asked Santa for wasn't under the tree 😔 I had to come up w/an excuse, kept his Shelf Elf around to back up my story, and waited to give him his "Monkey" until I could give him a way to protect it at the same time.2.) When the bag arrived "I" was more excited than later, when he opened the gift!!! I tore open the envelope, ripped apart the plastic bag it was in and INSTANTLY became a bit let down. The "adjustable strap" to carry it crossbody has cheap metal clips at the ends. The metal they're made of is so thin, a good tug on the strap and it bent the hook end which, luckily, I had metal jewelry making tools that could repair it but left me concerned about the life of the bag plus the clips aren't even the right shape for the strap to sit in so the strap stays sticking up and prone to getting snagged...3.)The cheap, thin, tiny plastic zipper only opens at one end and more often then not gets hung up on the inside edge of the bag fabric - thats with ME CAREFULLY DOING IT, not the child! Its advertised to hold multiple animals. When full, if the zipper is managed to be opened fluidly the first try, you end up with tumbling monkeys out of one side before the zipper reaches the other side - and Im forced to "call the doctor" who had to say "No more than ONE monkey's allowed in the bag (at the same time)!!!"4.) As for that fabric that is constantly getting stuck in the chincy zipper - its actually a nice, thick foam w/a velvety feeling finish. One side has the color you choose that faces out with the other color option available is on the other and makes the interior color. If I wanted a Pink bag for my son, I would have paid for the Pink bag & saved $ but I paid MORE for the GREEN bag! Why was I charged more for something that was just turned inside out? The fabric pieces are not edged with any ribbon or cording before or after being pieced together to for the bag, leaving the seam stitching exposed on the inside of the bag. Besides being... ugly... they are EXTREMELY vulnerable. The "Fingerlings" have tiny, pointy fingers that could easily snag a stitch and pull out a seam. One has already gotten snagged on a stitch but I was taking it out and was able to stop pulling before any damage occurred but this is made for CHILDREN!!!I wrote to inquire about what could be done to protect the structure of the bag meant for, and purchased to, protect the $80+ worth of toys it is supposed to carry around. My son's uncle's winter skull cap is certainly not a permanent solution. Amazon will only give me the credit I need to use to purchase a functional, PROTECTIVE case AFTER I return this one w/the temporary fix I'm using. But who is going to tell my 3 year old that I have to take away his new pets (that he's been VERY good with AND the therapy technique has been hugely successful) and wait at least a week for Amazon to receive the returned bag, process the credit, the credit to clear on my Post-Christmas credit card balance, and the shipping time to get a replacement??? Certainly not "Monkey Stix", they couldnt even bother to reply to my message looking for a solution to avoid the above and still not and up with an unreturnable bag that's falling apart in a few weeks!!!I had to leave 1 star for the concept & most materials. The mesh opening for your monkeys to look out & you to keep an eye on them was too cute and ironically, it actually has edging around the plastic BEFORE it was sewn to the opening in the fabric, not after to cover the material edge too. The materials (except the strap hooks) seem to be good quality but I regretfully have to return this. I REALLY wish I'd learned how to sew so I could fix the issues with this bag myself!!!!So buyer be warned, unless you have sewing experience to can clean up and reinforce the seams of this bag on the inside and/or have the $20 to throw away if it comes apart from kiddos shoving their monkeys in and out of it, DO NOT BUY THIS BAG!!!
