Louie Armstrong was a pioneering American musical giant and not to be missed, particularly, if you want to more fully know this country and its musical roots. So.....I was very attracted to this box set, but, wary of perhaps poor sound quality. To my astonishment the sound is superior and very natural sounding--even the very old Hot Fives & Sevens. I was really surprised the oldest tracks lacked surface noise & had decent articulation. So for all this those comtemplating this purchase, I'll think you'll be completely pleased you invested in this economical musical treat. Variety is very good and Louis does a number of nifty duets with well known singers. All considered, this a safe bet for all those interested in this great artist.......In closing, I'd like to say I'm very favorably impressed with the manufacturer DMG of these 100 Hits Legends. Demon Music Group in my estimation really obviously puts a lot of effort & care into their remastering. They probably love what they do and it shows. I've got quite a few of their box sets and they're all really good. The Mario Lanza box set is an especially striking standout soundwise & has terrific song selections typical of the other sets. For me, I'll have not the slightest hesitation in purchasing the other sets I've missed. DMG for my money is just a terrific company & worthy of support.

I personally love his music. How does a man who lived a difficult life in a difficult time can make such beautiful music with such joy in his heart and voice is beyond me.

Super fast service. I had not heard of the "100 Hits" business before but will be a returning customer. Being a Louis Armstrong fan and having 19 single CD's and one three-disc set on the shelf made the decision to buy this set difficult. Am I happy I did? You bet. Mighty fine collection of songs and very good quality. If you like Armstrong's music, you cannot go wrong.

Received well packed and within the time limit. Have only played two of the CD's so far, but am very pleased with thequality thus far. I would recommend it on this assumption that the rest will be as good

Wonderful jazz

I am listening to this timeless music and reading Ray Celestin's The Axeman's Jazz. That's what I call perfect synchronicity. This is a must have cd for any jazz lovers collection and at an incredible price.

Boy can this man play . So many wonderfully recordings loved it 5star . I love these older recordings they're so pure not over produced like a lot of modern recordings. Can't recommend this highly enough.

This set has recordings covering his whole career. I prefer the early, more earthy style from his Hot Five & Seven period.
