Evil Dead Rise

This film is such a great horror if you love anything to do with the undead and with the old tv series you will love this film.

Evil dead rise a brilliant horror thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat. Plenty of twists and turns for horror fans. Well written and acted good story. Contains strong bloody violence violence and gore. The dvd is value for money pleased with the purchase.

I have been an Evil dead fan since #2 came out on VHS (the first film was still banned in the UK at that time).The only thing that is a worthy successor to the original trilogy is the TV show, Ash vs Evil dead.This film, much like the 2013 reboot is really not an Evil dead movie.Yes it uses themes from the originals such as the book and possession, but beyond that it is a generic horror movie.The biggest mistakes this film makes are the same mistakes the last movie made, taking itself way too serious and a cast of characters who you really feel no empathy for.The original movies were comedy horror, and there is little or no signs of horror in this.There are nods to the originals, with Bruce Campbell providing one of the voices on the 1923 phono recordings, and stuff like the guy swallowing the eyeball, but that is about all that connects them.The change of setting was in theory a good idea, but it really does not have the same feel as the cabin in the woods.As long as you watch it as an unconnected horror film it is ok, just don't expect an actual Evil Dead film.

This is, by far, the most scariest and most entertaining new Horror Movie. It is more frightening than Terrifier and I want to stand and applaud and salute the all-female cast. I felt so sorry and sad for the first victim, namely the elder of the two sisters. The entire movie is full of good scenes. I love the beginning when the first possessed begins to quote Wuthering Heights and comes out to take over the others' souls. I also loved when the eldest sister comes back from the lift and tries to get back to normal, and enters the kitchen and smashes eggs into the pan and flies out of the bathtub onto the ceiling and crawls around on and the walls. I love when the family merge into one. It is the Evil Book of the Undead that is playing, through the chants on the record. For me, the best performance goes to the eldest sister. I really cry for her because she is the mother of those children and she even says as she enters, in whispers, "It...it's not me." but is overpowered and how the younger sister tries to bring her back and cries for her. A true loving family wrecked by those evil dead spirits. The best Horror Film I have ever seen in my life. I have my own book coming out this Halloween and now feel so proud to have written stories like this particular one.

A little old school gore! Brilliant! I really liked this movie, it had some old school qualities that i really like. I highly recommended

A very good film. Lots of blood and gore! Very dark thought, and had to watch it, with the lights off. Thankfully, it did have subtitles! Overall, happy with this great horror movie. Thanks.
