flying hawk decoy
Bought this hawk decoy bird scarer for my dad, he loved it so much we got him another. Hanged one from the cherry tree using fishing rod wire instead of the string just as a personal preference for clear wire effect. Then hanged from thin wire and my god this decoy bounces and sways left to right in the wind just like the real thing flying mid air. Really is effective with a little bit of tweeking to position from a tree branch or from a l shaped pole as we have done for the other bird purchased. I would highly recommend this product. Arrived really quickly and easy to fit together. Does the job and definitely has scared off the pigeons. Looks good too and you can't help but sit in the garden and watch it bounce up n down in the wind from a distance and smugly smile knowing the rabbits and pigeons are too nervous to peck at your veg.

Our Pigeons seem to think the Hawk is a new friend.
I've never had so many birds, Pigeons, Collared Doves and other miscellaneous birds in my garden. As soon as Horatio (the Hawk) arrived I assembled him and took him out to play. He's hanging on a washing line via a springy lanyard which, I had thought, would allow him to move around in a more lifelike way.Within 15 minutes I had 3 Pigeons taking their evening meal in my cherry tree!! This morning it seems word is out and their buddies have come for a look and something to eat!! To be honest it looks more like another Pigeon than a Hawk. The description says "HIGHLY REALISTIC DETERRANT-These Hawk Decoys Are Life Size And guaranteed to Scare Unwanted Garden Visitors.", I'm not quite sure how that works so perhaps the seller will respond.Update - It’s been a few days since Horatio was ‘installed’ and I’ve tried moving him to different locations in the vein hope he’d scare some flying rats but sadly it’s all been to no avail. Most recently two pigeons gave young Horatio a demonstration of carnal activity which I suggest may have mentally scarred him.I think our Horatio will have to make one final flight - back to those nice people at Amazon for a refund.

Flying Hawk
Unfortunately he hasn't deterred all the seagulls but has had an effect on some, we no longer have them screaming at stupid o'clock in the morning so that's a bonus. There are two that still come when I'm feeding the little birds and scream at me but I can chase them off. Worth the money just to stop the early morning noise.

Realistic
The bird is realistic and not too heavy, although the cord is rather weak. It does a good job, though.

Does not work
The birds took no notice of it. Complete waste of time

Bird scarer
I bought this item as a crow /bird scarer it's a joke!!! It doesn't scare even the smallest of birds? I would really advise looking for some other form of bird scaring as this item is useless?? Trying to return the item for a full refund is also a joke as there are so many reasons as to not refund you ie postage, original packaging preferred?? Damage, it's been used for god's sake it will have damage? All these and probably more will add to the refund costs being deducted so I won't be returning it just putting in the bin to stop neighbours and birds from laughing at this joke of a bird scarer!!?

Brilliant Scarer
I was a bit dubious about the claims made for keeping birds ie Pidgeons, away from my property, but decided that, at this price I had nothing to lose.Arrived in quick time on 29 June, made a support to attach to end of my garage same day.Haven't seen a pidgeon land within 8 metres since, & they take a wide berth when they fly across our garden. How long it will continue I don't know, but if they get too familiar with it, I will take it down for a while then re-erect.Its BRILLIANT
