Well worth the low cost
I bought this to upgrade an Elevation Stratocaster( that I bought cheap on ebay on £25). The original single coils were okay but, I already have another cheap Strat with single coils and wanted to try this to see what difference it could possibly make . As everyone else says - what a difference - output is so much better, warmer and louder. Okay so it now sounds different to a 'normal' strat but, I prefer it so much that I now hardly play the other one. Next mod is to add a switch to bring in the neck pickup when in positions 1 and 2 (i.e. the David Gilmour mod)

Does the job
I bought this as the “buzzing” from my (expensive) single coils had got beyond tolerable. First off, I transplanted the pickups, pots, switch, to my existing ‘plate. 3 solder points., and I was good to go. I’m actually pleasantly surprised at the sound of the pickups, ok, not a traditional Strat sound, but, at gig volume, a lot of the subtleties of good single coils can be lost in the mix. These do a decent job, and, no buzz!

Easy, cost-effective upgrade to a budget strat
I'm very happy with this pre-wired pickguard. Installed in a Squier Stratocaster (Korea, 1989) to replace original stock pickups, switch and pots that were becoming faulty and crackly.I didn't want to invest too much money on upgrading the electronics given this is a budget guitar.Wiring and soldering job on the new pickguard looked neat and tidy.Had to drill some holes in the guitar body to make it line up with the pickguard screw holes (screws included).Cabling had to be moved around and tucked away to make it fit into the guitar cavity pickup slots. I used small cable ties to help keep the cables in place.I also upgraded the guitar jack with a Switchcraft 1/4 inch jack (not included) while I was doing this pickguard upgrade (recommended). This job was my first time soldering and only required three solder joints - it's straightforward (used a YouTube video as guidance).Hot rail pickups sound great; "hotter" than the stock pickups - they are aren't noisy but they're not totally silent either. First time using rail pickups so no reference point as a comparison. To my ears, nice variations of tone - both clean and dirty. I played the guitar through a Fender Frontman 15 (solid state amp) and a Joyo Meteor hybrid amp head and guitar sounds great and is versatile.Given the cost of this upgrade, I would definitely recommend this pickguard and would buy again if I was upgrading a cheap strat. This pickguard gave a new lease of life (and facelift) to my old Squier Strat and I'm enjoying playing it again.

Really good, don't be fooled by the price
Fitting this on a 90s Japanese Strat took no time at all. For clarity that guitar had an 11 plate retro fitted ages back, so a few necessary extra holes were there already. Sounds great, and the controls work as they should. What's not to like for £28?

Don’t be fooled by the price
As the headline says....This fully loaded scratch plate arrived well before the due date and was really well packaged. The soldering is very neat and the wiring very tidy. The scratch plate fitted straight into my eighties strat copy without any extra machine work needed. The soldering up to the output socket is easy with the white being the hot to the tip and the two reds being ground. I soldered one to the socket plate and attached the other to the tremolo claw in true Fender style.Operation is absolutely silent with no hum whatsoever. The sound from the pickups is lively and lends itself well to both clean and distorted styles. All in all extremely pleased.Brilliant.

Great output
My guitar sounds great, the output is far greater than standard single-coil pickup
